" Why are you being so damn reckless, Andrews?" Jayce sighed. Her afro danced as she asked the petite nurse, Norah to give her the blood pack. " It's not for drink. I know you're a vampire."

Rett whispered at Seath. " Don't you know it's too racist to call him a vampire?" Seath scoffed. " Vampires. Humans. Demons. It doesn't matter. As long as he had a gut to be a good man."

Shaine was unconscious. He was in a deep coma after he was brutally shot.
I just wanted to save my brothers and protect Seath because he was my older brother. Jesinia. I loved her.

" Jesinia Haura Koskinen-Carrigan." Rett told Seath. " He loved her. She was his heart and.." Rett paused. " His purest blood."

Jayce kept scolding Shaine. " Listen, soldier." She slammed her glove. " Sometimes on the battlefield, you can't act like you're in a video game. This is reality, Shaine." Shaine only listened when Norah settled the blood transplant procedure. " Dr Rosen forgot to tell you that you are no longer feeding the Genome fluid." Shaine woke up with his bandaged stomach. " What?"
Jayce rolled her eyes. " It's complete. See? You're a full-fledged bloodlusting demon like Reginald."
Rett is a vampire? Shaine wondered. No wonder he drank a blood pack during The Godfather party.

" Shaine, may I ask you something? It's kinda sensitive but.. how did your sister kill herself?" Shaine sighed. " My sister is a troubled kid. One day, my mom sent her to the boarding school where everyone abused her including Mrs. Pickett." Rett asked, " Who's Mrs.Pickett?"

" Her headmistress. She's a music teacher. She always pulled her hair and yelled at her if she got a wrong note. She threw her Recorder on the same day and.."
Shaine cried. " I got a call from the school telling me she had overdosed from Heroin that she smuggled by her friends. She mixed Heroin with rat poison." Rett hugged Shaine as he understood how it felt to have a sister who was battling mental illness. " I used to have two daughters. Mindy and Maya. Maya is like your sister. Mindy died when she was six after being diagnosed with cancer. Maya is always being joked by my wife's friends for being an idiot. She had ADHD. One day, she ran with her stupid boyfriend and died." Rett continued. " But I saw a vision. Her boyfriend is not human. He was a demon that we fighting for. That's why I found Zedd at the Chapel and signed the contract. My daughter's soul has been fed by a demon. I can't accept this!"
Shaine calmed him down. " We will help you take revenge on the demons. You can trust us. You also can trust Seath."

When Nurse Norah, a skinny and blonde nurse changed his blood pack, Shaine suddenly had a vision. Her sins. " Norah Book. I guess." Shaine chirped. "At the age of sixteen, you stole your father's money to have knick-knacks with your boyfriend. You've ended up pregnant."
Norah didn't show any emotion. " You sell your baby to the Heretic abortion doctor." The nurse dropped the instruments. " What the hell you're talking about?" She raised her voice. " Admit it, Book. You're much worse than a Heretic. You worked here only to cover your dirty faces from your father. He was an alcoholic."
" Don't Penance Stare me, Andrews." Norah nearly cried. " Or I will report this to Head Nurse Crowley." Shaine challenged her. " Don't report! Don't do it! I get rid of these visions first." Damn. I can sense her sins. Since then, nobody dared to take care of Shaine except for Jayce and Norah.
" You're scared my assistant the shit out of her. What are you thinking, insane?"
Jayce mocking him. Rett stopped her.
" Don't yell at him! It was just an accident. He just discovered his powers. Damn, you're a hell warlock." Shaine kept silent.
" But sir, he's a newbie.."
" No! He's my replacement."
" He's too young and mentally unstable."
" Well, I think the Lord is a fool for choosing me the captain of the Angels of Death."
Jayce's mouth locked. " Fine. I'll do whatever you told me, sir."

Rett said calmly, " Thank you, Nurse Jayce Crowley. I'd appreciate it. One more thing, you've been mistreating your patients lately. This is not Girl, Interrupted." Rett's shoes knocked the hospital's floor. " I'm going to register that Adam boy to our squad as a rehabilitation."
