The doorbell chimes and I detach myself from Darren's grasp. He groans. "It's pizza." He soon stops moaning.
I walk up to the front door, and sort my hair out before I open the door. I come face to face with a blonde guy, about my age. He's pretty tall. "Good evening. You're Miss Lilly-Mae?" He grins.
I giggle. "Yes, I'm Miss Lilly-Mae." He grins bigger, and passes me the two boxes and cans. I wait for him to leave, but he stays standing there. "Anything else?" I ask, still smiling. I'm not going to be impolite.
"Well ... there is one thing." I smile at him, waiting for him to elaborate. "You're really pretty." He blurts. His cheeks go an adorable pink colour. Awwe!
The guy looks over my shoulder, and his smile wavers. I feel an arm go around my waist, pulling me back. Darren rests his chin on my shoulder. "Hey, babe. What's taking so long?" He asks, giving my cheek a quick kiss.
The delivery guys face falls. Oh my god, I feel so bad. I have the urge to say It's not what it looks like, but I kinda like how it looks like. "Oh," I say. "I was just talking to the delivery guy ..." I look at him, waiting for him to tell me his name.
"Ben." He rushes. "My name's Ben"
"Ben." I repeat, smiling. I look up at Darren, and he's not smiling.
"Well, Ben, you've done your job. Bye now." Darren pulls me away from the door, shutting it in poor Ben's face. I pull away from Darren, taking the pizzas into the living room. He chuckles, following me. "Hey, what's up with you?"
I turn to him, frowning. "You. You were horrible to Ben!" I cry. Darren crosses the room, taking the boxes from me, putting them on to the sofa. He then takes the cans, putting them down too.
"So," He starts, coming closer. "You're mad because I was mean to Ben. Who, by the way, you don't know." I nod, folding my arms. He pulls me to him, my crossed arms the only things keeping distance between us.
He groans. "Come on, Lilly-Mae! Don't be like that!"
I shake my head, moving away. "No. You don't know him! You embarrassed him! You don't know that he might be being bullied at home, or work!" I tell him.
Darren chuckles, moving my arms from my chest and putting them around his waist. "Come on, babe. He should know not to flirt with my girl."
"Yo ... you're g .. girl?" I stutter. He chuckles.
"Well," He starts. "You're a girl. And you're living here. And hanging out with me." He informs me. Oh. Okay.
"I wasn't your girl when you were getting on it with Amelia." I tell him. The anger bubbles again. Here he is, being all nicey-nicey when Amelia's gone. If she was here, they'd be getting it on in his attic.
I pull away from him, taking one can and a pizza box. "I'm eating in my room." I tell him, walking out. I go into my bedroom, and slam the door behind me. It hardly makes a noise. I sigh, putting my pizza down, and go back to my door.
I open in, and then slam it really hard. There. Now he'll get the message that I'm annoyed. I go to my phone and see I have a text from Amelia. This can only lead to something bad. I open it up, stupidly, and read it.
FROM: AMELIA: Just telling you, Darren and I had a BANGING time after you left. Don't worry, I shouted his name loud enough. Have fun chasing after the dream you can never have, honey!x
Bitch. I don't reply. I delete her text and go into my contacts, pulling up Johnny's number. The lady on the service says I don't have enough credit to make the call. I need to use the phone downstairs. I huff, getting a slice of pizza from the box.
