KELIESE JONES

SANDY SPRINGS APARTMENT COMPLEX
ATLANTA, GEORGIA

Amari's grip tightened around his phone as he heard  Keliese's confession. The anger and hurt he felt was sudden and unexpected.

"You... yo ass was flirting with another nigga while I'm in hea?" He asked, his voice dangerously low, trying to keep his emotions in check.

Understanding his anger, Keliese doesn't try to further plead her case as she hummed out in agreement quietly. Amari couldn't believe what he was hearing. The thought of someone else having her attention, the attention that was supposed to be reserved for him, sent a wave of jealousy coursing through his body.

"So while i'm in hea, struggling, missing yo ass every fucking hour, you out there doing a nigga wrong? laughing and smiling in some bitch ass nigga face?" He repeated, his voice growing sharper with each word.

"I've been missing you everyday too bae! Why you think I was even talking to him?" Keliese raised her voice slightly.

Amari clenched his jaw at Keliese's response. He couldn't fathom her attempt of justifying her actions.

"So just because you miss me, that gives you the right to flirt with a nigga behind my back?" He shot back, his tone laced with irritation. "And you think i'm supposed to be okay with that?" Huffing letting his words sink in she rolls herself on her back not responding to Amari's question feeling the tears come up.

Amari could hear her silence through the phone, he knew she was probably crying, and that just annoyed him even more. It didn't make sense to him how she could do something like that to him and then act like a victim when he confronted her about it.

"So you ain't gon say nun else?" He pressed on, wanting her to say anything other than some pitiful sniffles. "You just gon act like it's all okay cause you missed me?" "That's the best yo ass could come up with Imani?"

Croaking out "No mari." She kept her response short and curt still feeling a bit of anger cascading her veins as well. She knew she was undeniably wrong but she couldn't help it.

Sensing her frustration he couldn't help but feel more frustrated himself "Then why'd you do it then?" he retorted, his tone getting sharper "Deadass, you think that's the way to handle missing me? Talking to some other nigga? That's how you show me you love me?"

"I DONT KNOW!" she finally breaks shouting into the phone. "I don't fucking know Amari. I was looking for you in another nigga and I know it's wrong. Damn. I broke things off with him knowing that this wasn't the way to go about things." Keliese admits. Amari was silent for a few moments, taken aback by Keliese's sudden outburst. Her confession had caught him off guard, but it didn't erase the hurt he still felt.
