Later that evening, Tara was admitted to leave the hospital.
As Luke, Richie, and Sam wheeled her sister toward the door, Sidney Prescott, who sat with Gale Weathers on the main floor, looked up and asked, "That's her?"
"Yeah," Gale answered.
"Samantha?" Sidney asked as she approached her, causing the group to stop.
"It's Sam," Sam corrected.
"I'm..."
"I know who you are," Sam said, interrupting the legacy character.
"I hope you're okay," Sidney said to Tara, who gave her a smile in return.
"Listen, I'm sorry..."
"You're Billy's daughter," Sidney said, interrupting Sam.
"We'll bring the car around," Richie said. He and Luke, who grabbed onto Tara's wheelchair, then left the room, leaving the two women alone.
"Yeah," Sam said. "I'm his daughter. I'm sorry if that's weird for you."
"No, no, it's..." Sidney began to say but lost the words. Inhaling, she found out what to say to the daughter of her former flame. "I've been through this. A lot. You want to talk?"
"I appreciate it," Sam said. "And I'm... I'm really sorry about Dewey. But I'm taking my sister away from all of this." Sam then left, but Sidney followed.
"I tried running, too," Sidney said as Gale brought up the rear. "It doesn't work out, it always follows."
"All due respect, that's your life, not mine," Sam said as she continued walking.
"I'm not so sure about that," Sidney said. Annoyed, Sam turned to face her and Gale.
"What do you want from me, lady?" Sam asked.
"Hey!" Gale said as she approached Sam and Sidney. "Watch your tone, new girl. You know how they say it always goes back to the original?" She pointed at Sidney and said, "Here's the original."
"I want your help," Sidney said. "Because you're wrong. This is your life now. Which means whoever this is will keep coming for you."
"So?" Sam asked.
"So I want you to help us kill him," Sidney said.
"You want me to help you and the host of a morning show commit murder?" Sam asked.
"Correct," Gale answered.
"Yeah," Sidney added.
"And I'm what in this scenario?" Sam asked. "The bait? The helpless victim?"
"If the shoe fits..." Gale answered.
"You're not helpless, Sam," Sidney said. "He killed your friend. He killed ours. And I have kids, which means I won't sleep until he's in the ground."
"Look, I'm sorry about what this has done to your lives," Sam said. "But no matter what you or these killers or anyone say, this isn't my story."
"All right!" Richie said as he pulled the car up to his girlfriend. "Let's get out of town, huh?"
"Sorry," Sam said to the two women in front of her. "That's my boyfriend, Richie."
"Hi, nice to meet..." Richie began awkwardly. "We met. Sam, please get in the car so we never have to see these people again."
"Sam..." Sidney began but was cut off.
"No," Sam said. "We're leaving. That's the only way I can protect Tara."
