The landline ringing causes Tara to look up from her cell phone.
It was an unknown caller. Reaching over, she presses "End Call" and goes back to texting her best friend Amber.
She stops, however, when the landline rings again. Looking down, Tara sees Amber text her.
"You should answer it."
Tara stares at the four words confused. Amber lived a few blocks away.
"How did you know my landline was ringing?" Tara texts but gets no answer. "Amber?" The response scares Tara, shaking her right to her core.
"This isn't Amber."
Running to the landline, Tara answers the unknown number.
"This isn't funny, Amber," Tara says, thinking it was some prank. But Amber wasn't on the other end.
"Would you like to play a game, Tara?" a man's gravelly voice asks in a whisper.
Tara's eyes go wide. Dropping the phone, she runs to the door, opens it, and screams.
Someone wearing a black cloak slashes at her with a hunting knife, slicing her side. Sobbing, Tara slams and locks the door before backing away.
"Doors unlocked," the security system says as all locks turned the other way. Holding up a knife, Tara begins to cry as she rearms the system with her bloodstained hands.
The doors unlocked again.
Breathing heavily, Tara screams as the killer, who wears a white Ghostface mask, pulls her into the kitchen, dropping her to the floor.
Sobbing, Tara crawls to the back door, only for Ghostface to drag her back.
"Who would help you when you're all alone?" Ghostface asks as he plunges the knife into Tara's flesh.
Sitting in a cave, Luke looks out at the city of Woodsboro before him, looking confused and serious.
"I didn't hurt Tara," Luke's voice says to himself. "I put that behind me when I came here. But if there's a killer in Woodsboro, you bet your ass I'm gonna find him and gut him."
Walking down a boardwalk, Sidney Prescott answers a call from her old friend.
"Hello?" she asks.
"It's happening," Dewey answers. "Three attacks so far. Do you have a gun?"
"I'm Sidney Prescott. Of course, I have a gun."
The lights of a car turn on, facing a boy. The boy walks up to the vehicle, which is his own, and turns it off, only for Ghostface to appear behind him.
"Something about this one just feels different," Dewey's voice said. "And the only clue we have is that someone has claws."
"Samantha?" Sidney asked as she walked up to the teenager. "I'm-"
"I know who you are," Sam said, interrupting the woman.
"I've been through this," Sidney continued. "A lot."
"This is your life now," Sidney continued as Mindy, Amber, Chad, Wes, Liv, and Luke were all shown, "which means that whoever this is is gonna keep coming for you."
Ghostface's shadow is seen as a case is opened, revealing two pistols, which are grabbed by Sidney and Gale Weathers.
"You ready?" Sidney asks Gale.
"For this? Never," Gale answers honestly.
Ghostface then charges at Chad, causing Amber to scream.
"There are certain rules to surviving," Dewey says to the group.
"The attacks were all on people related to the original killers," Sam explains.
Walking through the halls of the hospital, Dewey empties his pistol and bravely faces Ghostface.
"Whatever is linking us to the past, it's pulled us all back here," Sidney says as a police car with the siren blaring zooms down the road.
"And I won't sleep until he's in the ground," Sidney finishes. Ghostface aims for all of his victims as Luke speaks to Tara, who's recovering from her attack, Sam, and Richie in Richie's car.
"See this picture?" Luke asks as he shows the three a Polaroid photo of three girls and two boys. "It's only five people but my entire universe is in this picture, and they're six feet under the ground!"
"Hello, Sidney," Ghostface whispers as he faces her in an empty house. "It's an honor."
Luke then faces Ghostface, wearing the Carcajou suit his friends had made him.
"You wanna piece of me, bub?" Luke asks as he pulls the yellow and black animal-like cowl over his head, starting at Ghostface with blank white eyes full of rage as he crouches low.
"Come and get it," Luke finishes as he clenches his fists, three steak-knife-like claws shooting out of his fist.
