As he was about to leave the apartment, Luke noticed Sam standing at the bottom of the stairs, making out with the guy next door.

As they shared a conversation, which Luke was conscientious to not listen to, he turned and saw Chad coming toward him.

"What's up?" Luke asked.

"You and Sam might want to see something," Chad said. Luke nodded and looked down the stairway.

"Hey, Sam!" Luke called, causing both her and her new boyfriend to look up at him. "You might wanna get in here. There's something we need to see."

"I'm standing in front of the apartment building where the mutilated bodies of two students were discovered," Tara, Mindy, Chad, Luke, Anicka, and Ethan watched the reporter say as Sam and the guy Quinn called "Cute Boy" entered.

"Their names have just been released by the police," the reporter continued. "Jason Carvey and Greg Bruckner."

"Hang on," Luke said. "Isn't Jason that one jerk from Film Studies?"

"Yeah, the one obsessed with 'Argento,'" Mindy confirmed.

"Also found at the scene were various Ghostface costumes, a character popularized by the 'Stab' movie franchise," the reporter continued. Luke looked at Tara and Sam, both of which had looks of fear and anger on their faces.

"Pack a bag," Sam said to Tara. "We leave in ten."

"Sam!" Tara called to her sister as she and Luke followed her. "Wait, Sam!"

"We're getting out of the city," Sam continued.

"Hold on," Luke said as Chad pushed Cute Boy, whose real name was Danny, out of the apartment. "Aren't you being a bit paranoid about this?"

"Hold on," Tara said as Sam drew a giant kitchen knife.

"Come on," Sam said to her sister and Luke. "Luke, you got your claws?"

"I always have my claws," Luke answered. "They're literally a part of me."

"No, wait, let's talk about this for a second," Tara said to Sam. "'Cause this might not have anything to do with us."

"Are you serious?" Sam asked.

"She might have a point," Luke said, pointing to Tara. "I mean, it's a pretty big city. And it's Halloween. Everyone wears masks and a lot dress up like Ghostface."

"Luke, Tara, this isn't a coincidence," Sam argued. "You two knew him!"

"Barely," Tara argued.

"Chad, Mindy, back me up," Sam pleaded.

"It is a little bit..." Chad began and his sister finished with, "Close to home."

"See?" Sam asked. Tara's face then lit up as she turned to face her roommate.

"Quinn, your dad's a cop, right?" she asked. "Can you call him and find out what's going on?"

"I agree," Luke said. "Before we make any decisions, we should at least talk to the police about this. This might not have anything to do with us."

"And by 'decisions'," Tara said to Luke, "you mean when Sam decides to make us abandon our college education and flee the state?"

"Pretty much," Luke answered.

"I'm calling him now," Quinn said.

"Thank you," Tara said.

Just then, Sam's own phone began to ring on the table. Curious, she walked over to it and picked the device up.
