It was Tara's idea.
Ethan wanted to hide, but everyone knew Ghostface would keep finding them. But Tara suggested they use that fact to their advantage. She then dialed Bailey's number to tell him the plan.
"I'm getting my rear chewed out for not dropping the case and now you want me to do what?" he asked.
"We want you to lure him to a secure location and trap him inside," Tara clarified.
"And then what?" Bailey asked. Tara and her friends all looked at each other before she gave her answer.
"We execute him. Are you gonna help us?"
"Let's kill the son of a gun," Bailey answered. "Now, I'm stuck here, but Gale gave us keycards to the theater. It's got heavy surveillance and security cameras, but we can use that against him. I'll tell Kirby to meet you there. I'll join you as soon as I can."
"Got it," Tara said.
"And remember, travel in public," Bailey added. "The more people around you, the less chance he has to take a shot at you before you get there."
"I might know a way," Luke said.
Later, the group all went down to the nearest subway, finding everyone in costumes.
"Is this even a good plan?" Ethan asked.
"You don't have to come if you don't want to," Tara answered.
"So we just peel off and the killer picks us off one by one?" Ethan asked. "No, thank you."
"Let's just get to the theater," Sam said. "Come on. In here."
Sam, Tara, Luke, and Danny all ducked through the crowds and open doors. Mindy and Ethan were about to follow, but the sea of people pushed them back.
"Luke!" she said as she tried fighting against the crowd.
"Mindy!" he said, trying to hold open the door, but was beginning to lose his strength. "Crap! I can't hold it open!"
Luke then began to lightly cough, causing him to lose his grip. The doors then shut as Mindy cursed. The train then started to drive down the tracks, leaving her alone with Ethan.
"Get your Ghostface rear away from me, Ghostface," she said as she walked a good distance away from Ethan to wait for the next train.
———
"Where's Mindy?" Sam asked as she, Luke, and Tara regrouped in the crowded car.
"She missed the train," Luke answered as his coughing grew more serious. "I tried to hold it open, but I couldn't. Cute Boy here dragged me away from the door."
"Trying to keep us together," Danny said as Luke stifled a cough.
"By pulling us apart?" Tara asked before turning to Luke. "Hey, are you okay?"
Luke coughed into his elbow. What he saw on the sleeve caused his eyes to grow wide. It was blood. He knew why the cough was so serious. His healing was nearly depleted. It healed him from poisoning from his adamantium skeleton. But now...
"It's fine," he said, clearing his throat and hiding the sleeve. "I just have a tickle in my throat."
"It's okay," Sam said as she checked her phone, seeing a text from Mindy. "She's fine. She'll grab the next train. She said not to wait for her."
"Oh, crap," Luke cursed. Everyone followed his eyes. Standing in the flickering light was someone in a Ghostface costume. There was more than one. And they all seemed to look at the group.
