JIMIN POV

"Come in." I shouted to whom ever knocked on my suite door.

The door pushed open and my omega father, the King's
consort, jiso came in.

"Really? You have taken to not even answering your door properly?" he admonished.

I sighed. "I'm sorry. I—"

I was heartbroken.

Sad.

Lonely.

So many feelings welled up inside me but none that my omega father had much experience with.

It wasn't his fault.

He and my father, the King
loved each other very much
but their marriage had been arranged, much like my
brother Hobi's wedding was.

He smiled sadly at me.

"I'm sorry it came to this."

"This Jungkook must mean
very much to you."

"He does."

"I know it was sudden but
what we felt was real."

"What I still feel for him is
very real."

My omega father sat down
next to me on the sofa.

He patted my knee.

"Well, I am sure that in due
time you can make things
right with this omega of yours."

"I understand that you'll be leaving in a few days?"

I nodded. "Yes."

"I have to finish up some business, then I'll be taking
a leave of absence."

"If your father and I picked
an omega for you—"

"No." I interrupted, already knowing where this was going.

"I would not accept."

"I know it must be hard for
you to understand that I could give up my title for him but he
is mine and he is worth more to me than being Duke or second heir."

My omega father nodded and smiled. "Of course, son."

"We will respect your wishes."

He stood and went to the door.

Just before he left, he turned.

"Your father and I expect you
at dinner in two hours."

I groaned. "Must I?"

He tsked. "Yes, You must."

"You are still Duke and second heir and as such, you answer
to the King and he wishes to have you and your brother
at dinner."

I nodded. "Of course."

***

I made my way down to the dining hall exactly two hours later, I hadn't moved from the couch after my father had left.

I spent the time taking notes
on how to explain to Jungkook that I loved him and beg his forgiveness.

Hobi, my older brother and the crowned prince, had texted me earlier to make sure I was coming to dinner.

He said it wouldn't be formal thankfully.

He mentioned it had been too long since we had all gotten together.

Really, it hadn't been that long
at all.

Didn't I just see them a few
days before at whatever event we had had?
