JUNGKOOK POV

I sat at the table, taking light nibbles of a slice of plain toast and sipping my tea when my
dad came down for breakfast.

I'd been staying at the cabin
with him for two weeks now
and each day I expected to feel better about the situation but instead I felt considerably worse.

My thoughts raced each
minute, to the point where I wasn't sure how I felt anymore.

I itched to call Jimin and at least speak to him but each time I chickened out.

My dad flipped on the news and
I immediately looked away.

The headline read "Royal
Scandal in Snowfall."

I'd never paid any attention when Jimin's country had been on the news before but now I saw it everywhere.

The news reporter read the
story. "It's been two weeks
since we caught Prince Park
Jimin with Jeon Jungkook."

I snorted at that.

"And since then, Prince park
Jimin has declined to make
any public comment."

"His brother, heir-apparent, however, has decreed that any news reporting outlet that bothers Jungkook would be barred from the royal wedding."

"As such, we haven't had a chance to get to know
Jeon Jungkook at all."

"The two appear to not have
had any contact with one
another since their date."

"Do we have to watch
this?" I asked my dad.

He shrugged. "Not much else on." He sat down across from
me at the breakfast nook, concern in his eyes.

"I think you need to speak
with him, son."

I shook my head. "No, I just need to put it all behind me."

I held my mug of tea close to
my lips, soaking in the warmth.

"It's been two weeks."

"You look pale."

"You haven't eaten much the past few days."

"I'm really worried about you."

"I haven't felt well." I said.

"I'm just a little heartbroken
and—"

And what?

I wasn't with Jimin?

I was alone?

I couldn't even make sense
of my own emotions.

"It was only two dates, Was
it really that serious?"

I looked at my dad pointedly.

He knew the answer to that.

He knew that I didn't fall frivolously in love with every alpha that came along.

I blinked back tears.

"Yeah, it was."

Dad reached across the table
and covered my hand with his.

"Then why don't you give
him a chance to explain?"

I clenched my fist, pulling my hand away. "He did explain."

"He needs to get married
before he turns thirty but he wasn't honest with me from
the beginning."

"How can we build a life on
that? I am sure he won't have any trouble finding an omega to marry him before October 13th."

"For all I know, he's already
got one picked out."
