She nudged her fingers in apprehension. "How's Mohid's behavior with you?"
Daneen shrugged her shoulders. "He is a good person. His behavior is fine with me. Even though we both share baggage with each other, we try to make our marriage work. We are trying to become at least civil with each other."
Andaleeb squeezed her hand, feeling relieved by this new information. She somehow knew that Mohid wasn't the kind of guy who would hurt anyone, least of the girl like Daneen, who was innocent in all of this fiasco and a victim herself. "I was afraid that he might be taking out his frustration regarding me on you but that's nice to hear that he is a practical guy."
"What made you think like that?" Daneen inquired.
Andaleeb took a deep breath. "When I called you a few weeks ago when I came back to our house, you didn't attend it. I...I thought that you might be angry at me. It was Mohid who answered, and that was when I got to know about your marriage. The other thing that came to my mind was the issue that it might be Mohid who wasn't letting you speak to me."
Daneen closed her eyes monetarily before opening them again. "That's not like that. The day you called and Mohid answered it, we were on our honeymoon. He told me the moment I came back to the room that you called me and you wanted to talk to me. I was very happy and relieved. I was so worried that something might have happened to you. That call acted as a relief for me. But at the same time, when I and Mohid were both going on a way to give our marriage a chance, I didn't want to ruin it for all of us. He is a guy who was once linked to you. He became a groom for you infact so as a woman, I had some insecurities. I thought that maybe he was still---" she trailed off and Andaleeb could understand what she meant even without words. "So that's why I didn't contact you back. Don't get me wrong. I never hated you. I always love you."
Andaleeb smiled. "Don't feel bad, Dani. I understand you. You were right in your place. But let me tell you one thing; neither Mohid has any hard feelings for me nor I. We were just arranged in this marriage. We were practically strangers to each other. From your talks, he does seem like a practical guy and I am happy that you guys are trying to make your marriage work."
Daneen nudged her both lips together. "Yes, he is. And he isn't frustrated with anyone. He isn't like that. Maybe if he is, he doesn't show that. He just had to get married anyway. Whether it was you or me, it doesn't matter. He would have become a good husband for anyone. And don't worry about me; I am fine and okay with this life."
Andaleeb shook her head as she crawled closer to Daneen. Right now they were sitting on the bed, knees to knees with each other. "How can I not worry about you, Dani? You...you like Zaroon. You wanted to get married to him. All these things just make me so angry at myself that I ruined everything for you. You were so happy and I just ---"
