So, this isn't something I wanted to do with this story in particular, but regardless, on the last two chapters I've had comments from some readers who, for some reason, feel entitled to this story and it's characters as though they're the ones putting in the effort and writing it. For free, might I add. Do some people simply forget that fanfiction authors go out of their way to write in their own free time, often when life is very stressful?
The comments I was getting (on here and other platforms where this fic is uploaded) ranged from "You shouldn't do x and do y" or "You should do x and don't do y" and even some telling me that "you shouldn't do x because x, y and z" - like, I'm sorry, but in what part of my author's notes did I ask for constructive criticism or help in the story planning? I appreciate, always, people's comments about parts of the story they're enjoying, or things they'd like to see, maybe, or even questions you have, but demanding that I do or don't include certain things or lecturing me on fandom discourse as though I clearly don't consume the comics and media this story is based on is just unwarranted. Perhaps some authors are fine with that, but honestly it's annoying and just sucked any of the enthusiasm I might have had for this story going forward. I've deleted the bad ones because it just sucked seeing them, honestly.
I won't delete the last two chapters, in the possibility that I do finish it (which is likely, because I genuinely love this fic) but for now, that's not in my immediate plans. I'll be writing fanfiction for myself and nobody else. I created a new account which I will not be divulging, so there won't be any activity from this account for a while.
Thank you for those who genuinely enjoyed this story, and feel free to re-read it as much as you like, I won't delete it.
