Adeline quickly wrapped her arms around him, pulling him close. Jungkook buried his face into her neck, inhaling her addicting scent. He missed her so much it hurt.
"I'm so sorry, Jungkook," she whispered, holding him tighter. "I didn't mean to hurt you. I just needed time to think."
"But I thought... I thought I ruined everything," Jungkook sniffed, feeling her warmth envelop him.
"You didn't ruin anything," Adeline assured him softly. "I just got scared. I've never felt this way before, and it overwhelmed me."
Jungkook pulled back slightly to look into her eyes, his tears still glistening. "You scared me too. I thought I lost you."
"You could never lose me," she said earnestly, wiping away his tears with her thumb. "I care about you too much for that."
"I am so sorry, my Kookie. I was being a bitch. You said 'I love you' out of the blue, and it just caught me off guard."
"It would have felt awkward to have sex with you right after that, it might have looked like I was using you just for your body!" she whispered, kissing the side of his neck and running her fingers through his hair.

However, she stopped when she felt something inside his blazer's pocket. She frowned, backing away as she pulled out the small velvet box.
"Adeline, no!" Jungkook exclaimed, but before he could reach for it, she opened the box.
"An engagement ring?" she gasped, her eyes widening in surprise.
