BURNING DESIRE

Chapter 7

The venue was adorned with twinkling lights and glamorous decorations, setting the stage for a night of celebration and recognition for the talented filmmakers and actors in attendance.

We all sat down at the same table.
Susan leaned in and asked in a hushed tone

"You'll never guess what – the press got hold of the information that you were pregnant during the auditions!" I felt my heart skip a beat.

"Yes, they're already trying to interrogate me," I replied, my mind racing with how to handle this unexpected situation.

Jimmy, then said "
As I returned from taking  Oliver for a stroll in the park. Someone must have seen us, because now it's all over the place," he said, a concerned look on his face. "

Taylor chimed in. "I didn't know you two had a baby together!"

Susan jumped in. "They don't – Winter was already pregnant when she auditioned for the part, and she was perfect for the role."

"Oh, I see your husband or partner is looking after your little one tonight.?" Taylor asks

"Just asked what you want to know Taylor? There is no father. He doesn't even know Winter was pregnant," Susan said, her voice laced with a hint of pity.

I felt a wave of shame wash over me. It's not like I haven't tried to find Lewis because I did, I looked on social media sites but only knowing his first name was useless I hadn't told Jimmy that I even tried as I was worried what he might think even though I already told Jimmy that I would not lie to Oliver about his dad.

"I would say I'm ashamed. I had a one-night stand, but when Oliver came along, the shame was all worth it," I confessed, my heart swelling with the love I felt for my son. Suddenly, the lights dimmed, and the presenter took the stage. To my surprise, it was none other than Bradley Young, the renowned actor and director. "Welcome, everyone, to the 21st Annual Performing Arts Awards!" he announced, his booming voice echoing through the hall.

"nominations for the best male actor are Jimmy Carter for his role in the film make your mind up" Everybody starts crapping

"Taylor Jones for his role in the day I met the lads " more cheers and clapping can be heard from around the arena

"and Robert Reeves for his role in Whats Up "
and everybody claps

And the winner is? ...........
Taylor Jones
The whole place erupts in cheers loud claps and whistles

"Congratulations Taylor, " I say
as Taylor makes his way to the stage

I turn to Jimmy  "Well done Jimmy there are other awards you up for? I'm sure you will win one of those. " I say with a smile

"Wow, I can't believe this," Taylor began, his voice shaking slightly with emotion. "When I first started acting, I never imagined that I'd be standing here today, accepting this award. It's truly an honour, and I want to thank everyone who has supported me along the way – my family, my friends, and of course, the incredible cast and crew of 'The Day I Met the Lads.'" As Taylor continued his acceptance speech, " I remember just starting out, struggling to land roles and make a name for
Myself in the industry. But through it all, I had never lost sight of my dream, and now, it is finally coming true."
He smiles and waves as he makes his way back over to our table.

When it came time for my category, I held my breath, my palms sweating with anticipation. As Bradley read out the nominees, I couldn't help but glance around the table, realizing that we were all in this together – a diverse group of talented individuals, each with our own unique stories and challenges.
