SHAIRA'S POV :-
I was quite excited to attend the Rooftop party. I was something traditional and simple that represented Indain culture. As i entered the house i was welcomed by Aarav's mom. I greeted her, at first glance she looked so beautiful,so perfect.
She took me to the roof, i was excited and also nervous cause his friends were also there but i put on a confident smile and walked beside her.
While entering the roof i saw Aarav. He was looking good, for the first time i saw him in kurta. It suits him.
He walked towards me making my heart flutter a bit but i brush ut off.As the party continued,Rohan ans Shreya also came and joined me. I also got to meet his friends. We all talked, played games, danced and all the fun activities.
As the party concluded, everyone's gaze was captivated by the dazzling fireworks display. I slipped away to grab a glass of water, mesmerized by the colorful explosions in the sky.
But as I reached for the glass, disaster struck – my anklet slipped off, clinking against the floor. I set the glass down and bent to retrieve it, but before I could, Aarav appeared beside me.
"Let me," he said, his voice low and gentle, as he dropped to his knees.
I hesitated, unsure of this sudden moment. But his reassuring smile put me at ease, and I nodded.
Aarav's hands guided my leg onto his thighs, sending a jolt of electricity through me. His fingers brushed against mine as he picked up the anklet, fastening it securely around my ankle.
My heart fluttered wildly. Moments like these were the stuff of romance novels – the kind I devoured in my free time. I had always longed for such tender, meaningful connections. For the first time in life i experienced a sweet heart fluttering moment that i alsways read in softcore novels.
Maybe, just maybe, Aarav and I could transcend our rivalry and become friends. I made a silent promise to myself: just friends, nothing more.
As Aarav's eyes met mine, a soft smile still on his lips, I felt my resolve waver. The fireworks fizzled out, but the sparks between us seemed to have just begun.
AARAV'S POV :-
As I fastened the anklet around Shaira's ankle, my fingers grazed her skin – silky smooth and soft. I met her gaze with a gentle, reassuring smile, calming her evident unease.
For a fleeting moment, it was just us, lost in the tranquility of the rooftop, the fireworks' embers fading into the night.
Then, chaos erupted.
My friends, rowdy and oblivious, chimed in from a distance, whistling and shouting, "Someone's falling for their rival!" Their teasing pierced the air, shattering our serene bubble.
I shot them a stern glare, my eyes flashing with annoyance. Gently, I lowered Shaira's leg from my thigh, ensuring she was steady.
"Don't mind them; they're just silly," I said, offering a reassuring smile.
I strode over to my friends, my voice firm but controlled. "That's enough, guys. Cut it out."
Their chuckles and teasing died down, replaced by sheepish grins. I couldn't help but steal glances at Shaira, now engaged in conversation with my mom.
Her laughter carried on the breeze, and I found myself captivated by its melodic sound. My thoughts wandered:
We didn't got to talk much but for me our eyes said everything, she looked breathtaking tonight. I was unable to tear my gaze from her.
At the end, as i bid her bye she went to her home with Rohan and Shreya. One of my friends bumped his shoulder into mine playfully with a grin and said
'man you are falling for her just accept it'.It wasn't true deep down i felt that she was not that bad how i used to think she is. 'Maybe we can be friends instead of rivals', i responded to him.
'Yeah keep lying to yourself, you were practically drooling over her',he said.
Bruh- but bro....didn't she looked beautiful tonight?,i asked to him complete smitten in my own world.
'Damn, you are wasted', he said chuckling but they he responded 'jokes aside she isn't that bad how you told me she was'.Hey everyone! I hope you like this chapter.
