Jorel used to love the masquerade that happened every year. It was one of the only events that all of his neighboring kingdoms attended, and he loved having the opportunity to make friends among nobles and commoners alike. His older brother would deal with all the discussions and compromises, and Jorel got to have fun.

This year was different. Jorel's brother had announced his abdication nearly two months before the masquerade. Jorel was expected to step up and take his place immediately. One of the stupid rules his kingdom still had was that Jorel needed to be married to officially ascend.

He'd been thrown dozens of potential suitors, other high class members of his own kingdom, several royal members of neighboring kingdoms, even a few people without royal station. Jorel turned every suitor down. The only person he'd ever marry was the one man his kingdom would never approve of.

Jorel took a deep breath, pushing his fears and doubts further down as he slipped on his mask. A striking blood red color, features of the mask exaggeratedly wolf-like. He made his way out onto the floor, eyes subtly combing over the absurd amount of guests.

Jorel tensed at the feeling of hands at his hips, but relaxed instantly at the familiar feeling of Aron's slender fingers. He turned to face the love of his life, admiring his outfit and figure silently.

Aron wore a multicolored mask, bright blue and pink snakes intertwining around the eye holes. He drew Jorel close, just long enough for a chaste kiss, then stayed a good distance apart from him. "Somewhere private, yes?"

Jorel nodded, leading Aron through the crowded ballroom. His family wasn't hosting this year, so he didn't really feel comfortable searching for a bedroom. Instead, Jorel brought Aron out to a small balcony on the third floor, banking on the hope that everyone inside would be too caught up in themselves to come looking for him and Aron.

Aron took Jorel's hand, caressing Jorel's knuckles in a soothing pattern, before pressing a kiss to Jorel's palm. "Any updates? Has my beautiful wolf chosen a spouse?"

Jorel smiled despite himself, shaking his head and running his free hand over the mask he wore. "Mmn, I'm not sure I should tell you. The prince of Lavonas can't know anything happening within the kingdom of Muerte."

Aron grinned, sensing Jorel's sarcasm and matching it, "Oh, yes, of course. My humblest apologies. There's that silly rivalry between our kingdoms." He hugged Jorel from behind, rubbing his chest and kissing his neck, "Are you doing okay, Jay?"

Jorel nodded rather sullenly, gazing out over the balcony while his lover held him. "I'll be fine. I wish I had another year, or...oh, I don't know. More time. As for your question about a spouse? Of course not. I'm sure a number of the people courting me would be wonderful rulers, but none of them are you."

Aron closed the distance, lifting Jorel's mask enough to kiss him more intensely. His tongue slipped past Jorel's lips, his arms around Jorel's waist. He lifted Jorel up onto the railing, caressing his thighs and continuing his messy passionate kisses.

Jorel couldn't breathe, and he didn't want to. He tugged his and Aron's masks off completely, combing his fingers through Aron's hair, moaning into Aron's mouth as he felt himself get hard.

Aron broke the kiss so they could both take some breaths, one of his hands moving up to rub and palm at Jorel's erection. He kissed Jorel's neck softly, "I'll convince my kingdom to put me forward as a candidate for your hand, Jorel. I'm trying, I promise."

Jorel held him closer, kissing the top of his head, "I won't settle for anyone else." He tilted Aron's chin upward, capturing his mouth again. Aron kissed back with everything in him, his hands making quick work of the fastens on Jorel's pants.

Aron spit onto his hand, then curled those slender fingers around Jorel's exposed dick. Jorel whined and clung to his shoulders, unable to stop his hips from jerking.

"It's been too long, I'm sorry," Aron murmured, working Jorel's pants down some more while keeping his strokes even.

"Don't...mmn, don't apologize," Jorel groaned, thrusting up into his partner's hand, "Just give it to me, let me feel you, please."

Aron managed to pull his own aching dick from his pants, lifting Jorel just enough that he could push in, and moaning deeply as he buried his length entirely.

Jorel cried out, his face pressed to Aron's chest. The pain and pleasure mixed together so intoxicatingly, and his fingers dug into Aron's back. Aron held him just as tightly, pumping in and out of him at the rough pace he liked. Jorel couldn't hear anything aside from his and Aron's ragged breaths, his and Aron's racing hearts. He could lose himself in this, in Aron's arms, let everything else fade away.

"I love you Jorel...You're my everything," Aron whispered, the increased roughness of his thrusts letting Jorel know how close he was getting.

"I love you too, Aron," He echoed, gasping as Aron flooded him with his release. He wasn't far behind, making a mess all over Aron's hand.

They kissed sloppily but sweetly, and Jorel could've stayed right there forever. He knew that even when the masquerade ended, his heart was Aron's, and he'd hang onto the hope of ruling at his side someday.
