"So... I guess Cece is good at what she does?" I asked Asami who shot me a horrified look.
We were sitting in the "geek cave", the room that Void, Asami and Cece used for our missions.
The room was equipped with countless screens of various sizes covering the entire wall of the room.Three large tables covered with computers and geeky stuff stood in the middle of the room, turned towards each other forming a triangle. While some of us sat on the chairs, the others were still patiently waiting, leaning against the walls or sitting on the floor."Good?" Void asked me, looking excitedly at Cece.
" She's not good...she's...extraordinary " Asami replied as she watched Cece just as Void did.
I followed her gaze to the door, where Summers had been talking to King, Cece and Silas for some time.
Whatever they were talking about, Summers was pissed off and stood toe to toe with Silas shouting at him."I hope he punches him in the face," I hear Masters say as he sits next to me.
Duke's laughter echoes through the room when he hears him.
"Stop it Jayden...If it was me you'd be the same" Cece shouts as she enters the room and the screaming is now audible as the sound proof door has opened.
"Are you completely stupid, Celine?" Summers asks his sister as he catches up and turns to face her.
"It's still my choice...either you sit with the others now...or leave the room," Cece says firmly.
Summers looks over her face, opening his mouth a few times to say something, his face covered in anger, his eyes darting from one of her eyes to the other as Cece continues to look at her brother coldly.
"So... what's it going to be Jayden?" she asks him.
The room is silent, the whole brotherhood staring at them as the two just stare at each other.
"You know what kind of danger you can put yourself in," Summers says, much more softly.
"I know," replies Cece.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" he asks again, a little more gently.
"Yes," she says softly. " Trust me...I'll stay under the radar...nobody will notice me" she adds reassuringly.
Summers nods as Cece turns and takes a seat behind one of the computers.
As she connects any other devices to the computer, Summers turns to Silas, who enters the room."Listen, Summers..." Silas begins, but Jayden takes a step towards him and stares at him.
"If anything happens to her...I'll fuck you up so bad, you'll wish you were dead," Summers hisses, silencing Silas.
Ace is sitting right in front of the two of them, looking up from his phone, searching my gaze.
I have no idea what's going on, just like the rest of us as everyone looks at each other questioningly."I promised her I'd look after her," Silas answers.
"Like the rest of your people?" Masters asks him, as Duke turns to him and shakes his head with a laugh.
"Leave that to us...you're asking them to help you find your sister, remember that. So what kind of protection are you talking about anyway?" Summers says to Silas, turning away from him and taking a seat next to Walton.
The tension was almost palpable in the room, only Cece seemed relaxed as she typed.
King stood in front of her desk and spoke to her briefly before she nodded with a smile and he joined the others.
Not only was everyone from the fraternity there, even Void's wife Erin was here, who was a complete geek like him.
Nova sat next to me and whispered to Rei while Duke sat to my left with his arms crossed in front of his chest.
