Chapter 25

Nathan

"What do you think will be in their report?" Ace asks me as we both sit on the balcony of the hotel where we're gathered, watching the police looking around the warehouse.

"What can they write... nothing seen... nothing found" I reply.

Ace turns his head towards me his eyes full of worry but a smile on his lips.
"Duke would be proud of us" he says softly.

I lower my head and look at the ground, exhaling deeply.
Waiting is the worst thing we had to do now, waiting for Cece to help us, waiting for Alejandro's brother to show up, waiting to get started.

"They'll be fine," I say quietly, though I can't even convince myself when I say the words.

"I hope so," replies Ace.

King was just as fucked up as Ace and I,only it was worse for him.He was sure that panic had already broken out at home,and he couldn't calm anyone.That was the deal,no phones on missions.

"How long will it take for the brother to arrive?" Ace asked King as he dropped into the chair beside him.

"A few hours," King answered, lighting a cigarette.

"Hours?" asked Ace, shocked.

" I know..." King replied.

"What do you mean hours...we have to...King" Ace began to protest but King just glared at him angrily.

"What do you want me to do? Shall we set off without weapons, without a ship, without boats, swim off and then fight bullets with fists?" King asked in a huff.
Ace sat back, aware of King's words.

"You know we're short of ammo now...We can't get to the island without Alejandro's brother...I know hours are too much...But what am I supposed to do?" King asked sadly.

His words were heavy and the weight he was carrying was clearly visible.

"We are all ready...Amara has sent the money to Fernando,he has promised to bring everything we need.It will just take some time to get to us unnoticed through side roads.Naoki and Asami have gone over the plan with me.They will destroy the transmitter on the west side so we will attack the eastern part of the island,Cece told me she is sure his headquarters is more to the north so our target will be the eastern part of the island." I said,making both brothers look at me.

"Thanks Dylan," King replies quietly.

"We are a team King" I answered him.

"Finn and Carmen will take out the drones as soon as the transmitter is destroyed, if he's blind and can't see us we have the best chance, it's better if we split up..." I add.

King nods in agreement and looks to Ace.
"I'll go with Dylan and Gears, we'll take Ink and a few more of Alejandro's men with us," Ace says, while King nods.

"Summers will go with you, Walton and Masters too, and you can use Silas as well. " I said to King.

We had to take Storm and Wrath home, and Doc was the only one who could go with them to keep them safe, so we were three men short of what we thought.

"Aejandro said he'd stay with Finn and Carmen on the ship to back them up," Ace added.

King's mouth tightened into a small smile as he listened to us.
"Thank you both," he said gently." I was...it hit me hard. I'm sorry"

Ace just nodded as I looked over King's face, guilt plagued him so much it was eating him up.

"It's not your fault" I said suddenly, making King look at me.
