Author note: This chapter takes place the same time Harry sneaks to Hogsmeade and learns more about Sirius Black. Just so you know where we are in the timeline(: and the change I made from the movie is that Draco isn't there to fight with them just before Harry shows up, he stayed back at Hogwarts.
Author note pt.2: Keep in mind while reading this that it's obvious there are some feelings between them. Obviously not love, they're not there, but there's something. And despite how Draco acts, his are strong, he's just fearful of them for so many reasons: one being his father and others being confused and not fully understanding something he's never experienced before. So there's a lot of push and pull with him, he wants her but believes he can't or shouldn't have her. Hope this helps so this chapter doesn't come off as too confusing.

(Y/n)'s POV
News of what happened to me spread through the school like wildfire, consuming the thoughts and conversations of every student. It was one of the reasons I chose to skip the trip to Hogsmeade today; the other being that I still didn't feel well. Although my cough had eased and the fever had subsided, a deep fatigue lingered, draining my energy.
So here I was, confined to my room, wrapped in my blanket on the bed. The identity of the person who cast the curse remained a mystery, and I wondered if we would ever uncover the truth. As I reflected on the situation, a thought struck me: what if this was just an elaborate prank that had accidentally gotten out of hand? Maybe the person behind it was too fearful to reveal themselves, worried about the consequences if their sole intention had been to elicit a laugh and not nearly take my life. This explanation seemed the most reasonable, especially since everyone I'd met in this place had displayed nothing but kindness towards me.
The weariness of my bed finally became too much to bear, and I swung my legs over the side, rising to my feet. The chill of the wooden floor sent a shiver up my spine, a stark contrast to the warmth I had just left behind. I made my way down the hallway, the familiar path leading me to the heart of the house—the common room.
The common room was a sanctuary, a place where the outside world faded away, and the flickering light of the fireplace beckoned me closer. There, I settled onto the cool floor, positioning myself before the crackling fireplace. The flames leaped and twirled, casting a warm glow that flickered across the room, illuminating the worn furniture and the scattered books that lined the shelves.
As I closed my eyes, the gentle warmth enveloped my face, and I inhaled deeply, savoring the rich aroma of the burning wood that filled the air.
It was then that Draco appeared, taking a seat beside me. His presence was both familiar and unexpected. I opened my eyes to find him gazing into the flames, his expression contemplative. The flickering light danced across his features, highlighting the sharp angles of his jaw and the intensity of his gaze.
"How are you doing?" he asked, his voice gentle and laced with uncertainty, as if he worried that any sudden movement might disrupt the delicate peace around us.
"Not so well," I admitted, my gaze drifting back to the dancing flames. "I mean, I'm better than before, but I still feel pretty drained."
We fell into a comfortable silence, the warmth of the fire wrapping around us like a snug blanket. The stresses of the day began to fade, replaced by the quiet connection that had developed between us over time. The soft crackling of the fire filled the air, and I found solace in our shared silence.
