Chapter 5: Backburner

"When are we going to tell them that we don't know how to get them out of this place!" Kaizo says in a frantic, worried voice. 

This sentence jolts you awake, 'I can't leave?!' you think to yourself in shock. 

The main thing that was keeping you calm was the fact that this would be over in a few days but now you don't know how long you will be stuck here. 

"What if we don't tell them?" Eliza says calmly "I'm sure I could figure out some way to get them out of here. I just need time and frankly I'm surprised that neither sleeping nor death did the job... we'll need to be creative" she continues. 

You get up and out of bed and head out your bedroom door. You're the first one up, Again. It's funny how even in the short amount of time that you have been here how much of a routine this has become. You wake up, play a game, go back to sleep, and then repeat. 

"good morning Indigo! up early I see!" Kaizo says in a cheery tone as if he hadn't been stressing about the fact he doesn't know how you all could leave moments ago... 

Clem opens up her door seconds later and exits looking tired 

"You look horrible" Eliza says with no sympathy in her voice. 

Clem looks up at her and says "Yeah, so what? Your face is a star, asshole" 

Eliza looks to the side and mumbles under her breath "It's not my fault" as she crosses her arms. 

A moment or two later Sunny walks out of his room and goes to stand next to you and Clem without a word. You wish that you could say what you heard, you wish that you could tell Sunny and Clem what you know and hopefully find a way to escape but you can't, because you can't say anything.

"So!" Kaizo says "Me and Eliza have taken your 'complaints' into consideration and have decided no more quote-on-quote weird skin demons!" Clem rolls her eyes "How are you going to kill us now" she says in a joking manner. Kaizo gives a small chuckle and says "Lava." Sunny's eyes widen, he looks at Kaizo and says "Wait wha-" and is cut off by a bright flash of light.

You wake up on the floor of a forest at the bottom of a tall mountain and there are three things that you notice. The first thing is that the forest looks like a picture was taken of it and the saturation was turned up to max. The second thing that you notice is that there is lava pooling at the lowest point of the mountain that the three of you are only a few feet above and the third thing is that the lava is rising.

You scream to wake up Clem and sunny but your words get caught in your throat and you are put in indescribable pain as the only thing that comes out of your mouth is blood. You run to Sunny and shake him in an attempt to wake him up. His eyes slowly open "What's going on?" he says in a tired voice. You forcefully point to the lava and he looks over "Uh-oh... Clem! Wake up!" Clems eyes slam open when she hears his voice 

"Huh? What is it- where?- HOLY SHIT IS THAT LAVA?" she says getting up quickly and bushing herself off. 

Sunny points to a two-story cabin at the top of the mountain and says "Up there!" Sunny and Clem start sprinting up the mountain as you follow quickly behind you. You all can get about 60 feet up the mountain before Sunny stops to catch his breath "Huff huff... can we... huff... stop for a moment?...please?..." 

Clem looks behind her to Sunny, smiles, and says "Sure flower boy" as she sits down on a rock. "We should have about 3 minutes until the lava gets here based on the speed it's going right now," she says as she looks over the landscape. Sunny looks up to clem and asks "Since when did you get good at calculations?" Clem stops but doesn't turn around "It's just an estimation nothing special... save your breath flower boy.."
