Two days later, the foundations of Fairyland shook, and everything in her apartment was falling down. She managed to rescue a potted plant, but otherwise, everything was a mess. Sirens and alarms blared out throughout the city, and TVs and radios echoed the same sentiment; The end was nigh. A messenger spread the word that dragons were fighting in the sky near Fairyland, and Jenny rushed to Luna's house. Drones followed her, and she paid them no mind, the emergency the only thing on her mind.
"Luna, we've got to get the dark fairies to fight the dragons or else Fairyland is doomed!" She nodded, and the both of them flew out to the dark lands together. They burst into the castle. "Please help us, Angel! The cloudquakes were caused by dragons fighting in the sky near Fairyland, and if we don't fight them, we'll all be doomed!"
She got up and began rifling through the closets to find weapons. "Thank you for informing me. We'll be there as soon as possible." A loud, echoing alarm rang out throughout the land, and a horde of dark fairies barged into the castle and picked out a weapon and some armor.
They left them to their devices and went back to their side. The army was facing the gates at the edge of the world. After a few minutes of patiently waiting, the dark fairies emerged from their kingdom. More cloudquakes erupted, buildings and clouds breaking apart.
Angel was flying above them and proclaimed, "We come in peace! Please, let us help you defend our land."
"Let's hope she's telling the truth. After all, she's lied before." Lavender muttered under her breath. "You can help," she yelled out to Angel. The other citizens were shuddering and fidgeting as the dark fairy army began fighting the red and white beasts approaching the land. Jenny grabbed a sword and charged in with the dark fairies, her wings beating, and sweat pouring down her face. The ruby dragon opened its mouth, the temperature rising. Fire streamed out of its muzzle. The animal fairy barely avoided the blast, a small flame burning on her wing. She flew through the army, looking this way and that for a water fae. One of the dark fairies with raindrop earrings waved her down. Water weaves its way to the sky, relief bolted through her wing. A nod of thanks was shared between the two as the battle continued.
Lavender's head tilted and her mouth was wide open in complete bafflement. "They didn't betray us? How curious. Perhaps she has changed," she whispered. "Light Army, go and help them fight off these intruders!" Her army charged towards the dragon. Light, spears, swords, and arrows danced across the sky, damaging the beast. It fell into the sea far below with a towering splash. The other dragon hovered in place for a moment, its strong wings creating howling winds through the broken monuments of technology. It watched its enemy falling to its death, and left the fairies alone, going back to the Ice Kingdom of the Dragon Lands. A collective sigh spread through the armies, now mixed together.
Angel and Lavender shook hands, and a large feast was held in the fortress. Everyone was invited. There were fountains dispensing several varieties of Sprite Moonshine, and many people were below them, guzzling this enchanted beverage. Some of them had cheeks red as a rose. Jenny rolled her eyes, shaking her head with a smile. There were several plates of sliced duck, rice, mushed avocados, corn chips, blueberry pies with various tops, crepes, moon cakes, teriyaki chicken with star fruit, and star fruit upside-down cakes. They were seated at a large round table, the queens equal to their citizens. "Let us toast to the saviors of Fairyland, the Dark fairies!" Cheers spouted from the vocal cords of everyone.
"Of course when we save your ass, you praise us, but you still left us to rot for thirty years," Angel said cheekily. There were two main dishes. One was juicy unicorn flank dunked into a savory sauce with a side of rice and roasted asparagus. The other dish was cooked cod with slices of dragon fruit in a fountain of fried rice.
Jenny took a bite of the unicorn meat, leaning on one elbow. "So, what's the story behind your dislike of one another?"
A familiar masculine voice said, "I would love to recount that story, my lady."
He bowed, and Jenny looked at the originator. "Mr. Klein!" Joy burst through her veins and she flew into his arms.
"I've missed you, kiddo." He messed up her hair, beaming. They released and sat back down, silence simmering as the anticipation rose. "Once upon a time, not so long ago, a fairy named Jasmine hatched three children. The oldest was Luna, the middle was named Lavender, and the last was obviously Angel. A green-eyed monster infected our queen, and she began planning with her sister to overthrow Luna. Angel, conflicted about her sibling's scheme, defected and told their mother. However, the little sneak was able to worm her way out of punishment and was able to overpower Jasmine through sheer force. In order to keep the peace, Lavender banished her sister to the dark kingdom, and situated Luna far away from the castle of Fairyland. From there, our kingdom grew in technology and innovation, but lost the heart and soul of fairies."
"Wow, I was right. You're just awful!" Jenny managed to choke out. Lavender's fingers curled into fists before composing herself, smiling at her sister and taking a drink of moonsprite.
Angel laughed and said, "It's true, she is, but she accepted us in a time of strife, so that's a win."
"Is it? What if she goes back to normalcy after this event?"
"That would be awful." Angel's face fell. "I hope that never happens." A tear dripped from her eye and she wiped it away.
Luna strolled up behind them and tapped her sister's shoulder, a warm hug enveloped her estranged sibling. "I've missed you so..."
"Me too..."
"By the way, Mr. Klein, where did you learn that story?"
He showed his former student Angel's biography. "This." A sly smile graced his lips.
After everyone ate and drank to their hearts' content, Lavender stood up with a rather fake smile plastered on her face and a glass in her hand. "Since we're indebted to our neighbors, I shall extend a hand in peace. Any dark fairy wanting to migrate to our kingdom is allowed to move in without consequences. This proposal is final!" The drink flowed into her throat, throwing the empty glass over her shoulder. A servant caught the fragile object. Lavender strides out of the hall as the bell rang, signaling the end of the event.
Jenny, Jill, Luna, and Angel strolled through the golden doors as they slammed shut behind them. Pink touched the clouds full of debris. "I suppose we should rebuild before anything else."
"Yes. I'll go retrieve supplies from the dark kingdom."
"I'll go with you." A smile blossomed between the two siblings as they sped off to the once estranged kingdom.
The mother and daughter duo sighed, surveying the wreckage for their apartment. Fortunately, it wasn't damaged too much. Most of the mess was from broken pieces of random nicknacks, like a vase that held wilted flowers before it fell. "Thank goodness the house is still standing, huh?" Jill mentioned, picking up shards off of the ground.
"Yeah."
