Chapter 4

Carmilla is startled out of her paperwork when Clara bursts into her office.

"Mom! You have to see this!" She shouts as she shows Carmilla her phone, which is currently playing a clip of Naruto's show/stream on loop. Said loop is Naruto getting shouted out of a shop for no apparent reason, when all he's trying to buy himself some new clothes, like Carmilla advised him to while training him last night.

Carmilla, of course, is outraged. Both at the actions of the shopkeeper, and at her own inability to help the poor child to whom she owes the guaranteed safety of her daughters from the yearly exterminations. "Clara, go get Odette. We're going to VVV Tower. Naruto has a contract with Vox, too, and I'm going to make him get some clothes for him from Velvette."

Clara nods, before dashing off.

Valentino glares at the screen, having decided to take the day off to watch Naruto's stream alongside Vox.

"See what I meant, Val?" Vox asks. "These people are worse than we are."

"Indeed." The moth says, disgust clear as day on his face. "We are many things, myself especially, but even we would never treat a child that way."

"What're you two geezers watching?" Velvette asks as she enters the room, having just finished her work for the day. Suddenly, she sees what's on the TV, and is appalled at the old, worn-out tracksuit worn by the child upon it. "Hey Vox, ain't that the kid who summoned you two weeks ago?"

Vox turns to glance at her, before nodding. "Yep, that's Naruto. As you can see by the glares he's getting, and the shops closing as he gets near them, his village doesn't exactly treat him the best."

Valentino scoffs. "That's an understatement."

Velvette crosses her arms. "When he summons you and Carmilla tonight for training, have him summon me. I'll have proper clothes ready for him. I can't have someone associated with US wearing clothes that shit." She says, before storming out of the room and heading back to her workshop.

As Velvette leaves, Papermint frantically rushes into the room. "Vox, sir, we have just received notice that the Carmines are on their way here to meet with you. They said that it's important."

Vox sighs. "It's probably about Naruto." He says, before standing and starting to put his suit on. "Go prepare the conference room, I'll be there as soon as I'm dressed."

Papermint nods before rushing off.

Lucifer hums a tune as he paints his Naruto-themed duck, this one being a large wooden duck he had carefully carved and re-carved over the past two weeks rather than a tiny rubber duck that he could throw together in an hour. Suddenly, he is startled by his phone ringing. Carefully setting the duck and paintbrush down, he pulls out his phone, only to be shocked to see that it's Charlie calling him. Suppressing his panic and nervousness, Lucifer answers the phone.

"Dad, do you have a TV?" Charlie asks immediately.

Lucifer blinks. "Uhmmm... no? I don't think so, at least."

"Then I need you to portal over here as soon as possible, it's about Naruto." She says, before hanging up.

Panic mode in full swing, Lucifer immediately stuffs his phone in his pocket and opens a portal to Charlie's hotel(which is nowhere near ready to open yet).

"Dad! Quickly, over here!" Charlie says, prompting Lucifer to follow her voice over to the couch, but what catches his attention is drawn to the TV, which is displaying Naruto getting chased out of a grocery store by either an employee or the owner, for no reason. He isn't even allowed to keep the food he was trying to buy.

Lucifer is enraged. "Seriously!? Denying food to a CHILD!? One who was fully intending to PAY FOR IT!?!?" He roars, fury radiating off of his body. "Sorry, Charlie, but I've gotta go. I'm going to go prepare Naruto some food and enchant it to never go bad. He won't be going hungry on MY watch." He says before vanishing.

Not bothered in the slightest, Charlie keeps her attention firmly on the TV.

Naruto laughs to himself as he finishes drafting his plans for the revenge-pranks he'll be pulling on the clothes-shop and grocery store.

"Kitty!" He calls, drawing the robot's attention from her cleaning so he can show her the plans. "What do you think?"

The robot hums in thought, her AI processing the plans. "These are too lenient." She finally says. "Revenge should leave a lasting impression, these can be washed away with only a few hours of cleaning. Instead of normal paint, you should use the insta-dry, water-proof paint you invented, specifically the edible version for the grocery store, and twice as much of it as you were originally planning. Alongside the glitter-bombs you were already planning, you should paint the internal and external walls of both stores with 10 layers of glitter glue. Specifically the version that's almost impossible to remove."

Naruto grins. "You're right!" He exclaims, beginning editing his plans. "What was I thinking letting them off so light, this'll take them a whole month to clean up. Longer if they don't hire genin to do it for them!" He says, laughing maniacally. After a few seconds, Kitty joins him.

A/N: For those who don't know, Papermint is the fan-name of Vox's shark-like assistant from episode 2. He doesn't have an official name, but Papermint is the most popular fan-made name for him, so I went with that.
