Naruto Uzumaki: Demon Of The Leaf

Chapter 5

With a flash of orange lightning, Naruto and Kitty appear in the forest clearing where Naruto's been training with Vox and Carmilla, alternating between them every night. Then, before he has a chance to summon his TV-headed teacher, a portal opens and Lucifer steps out, using magic to carry a massive tray of food(that he had personally prepared) behind him.

Naruto blinks in shock. "Lucifer?" He asks. "What are you doing here?"

"I saw you on TV." Lucifer says. "Apparently this village isn't allowing you to eat, so I brought some food for you. While you're eating, I'm going to go have some choice words with whoever's in charge that's allowing you to be treated that way."

Naruto's eyes widen. "No! The old man doesn't know! At least, I don't think he does." He protests.

Lucifer raises an eyebrow. "Why wouldn't he? Whoever it is that you're talking about, that is."

"I never told him, and I made Inu and Hebi promise not to tell him. He knows about the looks and words, but not the actions." Naruto says. "I told him about it the first time, and the guy went to jail and hasn't gotten out yet. Because of that, his job got harder with people speaking out against him for "giving the demon special treatment", no offense, and people started saying even meaner things about me than they were before. I didn't like that, so I decided to deal with it my own way." He explains.

Lucifer's eyebrow raises even further. "And what way is that?"

Naruto and Kitty glance at each other, before matching grins spread across their faces. "PRANKS!" They exclaim simultaneously.

"Every time a shop kicks me out for no reason, or makes me pay more for stuff than everyone else, I prank 'em. Hebi even helps me sometimes. I get my revenge, Jiji's job doesn't get any harder than usual, and nobody gets hurt. Everyone wins! Everyone but my victims, that is. They usually have to hire ninja to clean up the mess, and they can't even get back at me for it because I make sure that there's no proof that it was me. Everyone knows that it was, but because they can't prove it they can't do anything about it."

Lucifer thinks on it for a moment, before sighing. "You know what, just keep doing that for now. Though, instead of trying to grocery shop, just summon me whenever you run out of food and I'll whip some up for you in a jiffy."

Naruto's grin grows further. "You got it, boss!" He says, before turning to Kitty. "Kitty, make sure to remind me."

The robot nods. "Will do!"

"By the way, who are Inu and Hebi?" Lucifer asks.

"Hebi's not here right now, but Inu's that guy!" Naruto says, pointing at a tree that a man wearing a dog-themed mask is standing in the branches of, watching them. "He and Hebi usually stay hidden, but they don't bother when it's just me, because I can smell them and hear their heartbeats with how strong my ears and nose are, so there's no point in hiding from me." He explains.

Lucifer winces. "I'm guessing that having ears that strong hurts a lot."

Naruto nods. "It used to, yeah, but Inu taught me how to muffle my hearing with Chakra, so I just do that most of the time so that it doesn't hurt anymore."

Lucifer nods, before looking at Inu. "Who are you and why are you here?" He asks, causing Inu to leap down from the tree.

"I'm one of Naruto's bodyguards, assigned to him by Hokage-sama in order to prevent any harm from coming to him, though I would protect him anyway even if he didn't assign me to him." Inu answers. "I would intervene to prevent the shops from kicking him out, but I am forbidden from intervening unless someone tries to actually hurt Naruto, as Hokage-sama doesn't want the civilians from realizing that we're always watching him."

Lucifer blinks. "Why does the village's leader care so much about Naruto's safety?" He asks, confused.

"Naruto's continued existence is vital to the village's security, for reasons that I am not allowed to disclose in his presence."

Lucifer sighs, before turning back to Naruto and rubbing his head. "Right, that's probably all I'm gonna get out of you two, so I'm leaving now. Make sure to summon me if anything important happens, Naruto." He says, before stepping back through the portal and allowing it to close.

As soon as Lucifer's gone, Naruto turns to Kitty. "Kitty, take the food back home, it's training time." He orders.

Kitty nods and gives him a mock salute, before grabbing as much of the food as she can and running off as fast as she safely can while carrying it.

Immediately after Kitty leaves his line of sight, Naruto runs through handsigns and slams his hands into the ground, summoning Vox.
