Bad Things Happen

There's a sudden knock at their bedroom door. Astrid speaks up. "yeah? Come in..." Heather walks in* *Astrid smiles at Heather, "What are you doing up so early in the morning?" Heather Yawns* letting out a slight chuckle. "What, you really thought you were the only one that wakes up early in the morning?" *Astrid chuckles, giving Heather a smile back. "Ah, so you're a morning person too, huh? Well, it's a bit difficult to sleep in when there's another warm body snuggled up with you all night." Heather laughs. "Sounds annoying... anyway, I came in here to tell y'all I'm about to get going back home." *Astrid looks up, surprised and slightly disappointed at Heather's abrupt announcement. "Wait, you're leaving already? Don't you wanna hang out a bit longer?" She asks* "You sure you've gotta go right this minute? You're always welcome to stay for breakfast at least." Heather finally gives in. "Fine I'll stay" 

*Astrid grins, glad that Heather has agreed to stay a bit longer. She gently pats the space next to her on the bed.* "Okay, good. But instead of standing over there, come and sit next to me while we wait. I don't bite, I promise. Unless you ask me to." *As Astrid and Heather sit on the bed, Astrid decides to bring up the conversation between her and Hiccup the previous night.* "Hey, so, I wanted to ask you something. Hiccup and I had an interesting conversation last night, and your name came up. Can I ask you something kind of personal?" Hiccup raises his sleepy head after his name is called. "Hmh? Astrid responds* NO not you sleepy head I'm talking to Heather! Heather looks nervous* *Astrid immediately notices Heather's nervous demeanor, feeling slightly worried.* "Hey, hey, it's okay. Don't look so nervous. It's just a question, not a threat. I promise I'm not trying to intimidate you, alright?"

Heather- "Ask away" *Astrid takes a moment to gather her thoughts, trying not to come off too strong.* "Alright. Hiccup told me that when y'all were little, you used to have a crush on him." Is there any truth to that? 😳😳 oh Umm.... (Heather starts stuttering words like a fool) *Astrid watches Heather carefully, noticing her stuttering and stammering. She tries to keep her voice calm and gentle.* "Hey, it's okay, Heather. No need to stress out. You can tell me the truth. I'm not gonna be mad. Heather finally gets herself together after tripping on her own words. "Truth is Iv- iv always liked Hiccup..." *Astrid's eyes widen in surprise, not expecting such a heartfelt confession. She studies Heather's nervous face, trying to keep her own voice soft and understanding.*

"You... you've always liked Hiccup? Like, romantically?" Heather repeats herself to make sure Astrid heard her right. "Yeah, I have... "Gods this is so awkward!" *Astrid nods slowly, taking in the truth of Heather's confession. A small part of her had had suspicions, but now they were confirmed.* "Alright, wow. That's a big revelation, not gonna lie. But you can't deny how you feel, right? The heart wants what it wants, after all..." 

I knowww but he's yours.  *Astrid smiles gently, knowing that Heather is struggling with her feelings. She tries to reassure her in a kind-hearted manner.* "Yes, Hiccup is mine. But just because he's mine, it doesn't take away from your feelings. It's okay to have feelings for him, even if it's not reciprocated. Nobody can control how you feel..." *Astrid sighs, understanding how Heather's feeling. She reaches out and gently places a hand on Heather's shoulder.* "I know it feels wrong, but you can't help who you like. It's nothing that can be controlled, no matter how hard you try to deny your own emotions. But remember that I'm never gonna judge you for it, alright? If anything, I feel a little flattered that you like my man so much..." Hiccup- "I like how this conversation is just so openly about me, and y'all talking about me as if I'm not laying right here." Hiccup's sudden voice scares the crap out of Astrid and Heather. Astrid jerks. "HOLY fuck I thought you were asleep, she playfully grabs a pillow and smacks him. "don't ever do that again." 

*Astrid laughs as Hiccup interrupts, amused by his words. She gives him a playful grin.* "Well, you're the hot one in this relationship, babe, of course we're both gonna be talking about you. Besides, I'm just trying to make Heather feel a bit better about her unrequited feelings for you." Hiccup- AKWARD..... *Astrid laughs again at Hiccup's comment. She gives him a fond smile, understanding his uneasiness.* "Yeah, it's a little weird, but it's also kinda cute how smitten Heather is with you. Can't blame her for having good taste, y'know..." I'm not that good-looking... am I? Hiccup stated* *Astrid scoffs, not believing what Hiccup is saying. She gives him an incredulous look.*
