Hoseok sat in the back of the studio, his gaze fixated on the mirror reflecting his every movement. The music blasted through the room as his feet glided across the floor, each step precise, each spin fluid. He was in his element, completely immersed in the rhythm. Dancing was his life—had been since he was a kid. Now, as one of the most famous dancers in the industry, he lived for moments like these.

"That was amazing, Hobi!" one of his backup dancers called out, clapping as the music died down.

Hoseok smiled, catching his breath. "Thanks. You guys are killing it too."

As everyone started gathering their things, he wiped the sweat from his forehead, ready to call it a day. But just as he reached for his water bottle, his phone buzzed. A message from his manager popped up.

New choreographer is here. Heard you’d want to meet him. He’s waiting in the lobby.

Curiosity piqued, Hoseok grabbed his bag and headed toward the lobby. He wasn’t usually one to seek out new choreographers, preferring to work on his own pieces, but his manager had seemed oddly insistent this time. As he approached the entrance, his eyes landed on a familiar figure standing by the window.

It couldn't be.

"Jimin?" Hoseok's voice broke through the quiet lobby, making the man by the window turn around.

Jimin’s eyes widened in surprise, his lips curling into a small smile. "Hey, Hoseok."

Hoseok blinked, his heart skipping a beat. He hadn’t seen Jimin in years—not since the accident that had forced Jimin to quit dancing. They’d crossed paths a few times before, but after Jimin had disappeared from the scene, Hoseok had lost track of him.

"What... what are you doing here?" Hoseok asked, still trying to process the sight of him.

Jimin shrugged, his smile a little shy. "I’m choreographing now. Can’t dance the way I used to, but I can still teach."

Hoseok felt a wave of emotions crash over him—relief, happiness, and something else he couldn’t quite place. Jimin had always been one of the best dancers he knew, and seeing him here, standing in the studio again, stirred memories of their younger days, when they’d both been hungry for success, full of dreams and fire.

"I didn’t know you were choreographing. That’s amazing," Hoseok said, unable to hide the admiration in his voice.

Jimin laughed softly. "It’s a bit different, but it keeps me close to dance, you know?"

They stood there for a moment, a comfortable silence settling between them. Hoseok could feel his pulse quicken. He had always admired Jimin, not just for his dancing, but for the way he carried himself, his soft yet determined energy. Back then, Hoseok had never had the courage to say anything, but now...

"You wanna sit?" Hoseok gestured toward the couches in the corner, and Jimin nodded.

As they sat down, Hoseok couldn’t stop himself from asking, "So how’s it been, you know, after everything?"

Jimin hesitated for a moment before answering. "It was hard at first. Losing dance was... well, it felt like I lost a part of myself. But over time, I realized there are other ways to be involved in it. Teaching and choreographing—it’s not the same, but it gives me a new kind of satisfaction."

Hoseok’s chest tightened at the vulnerability in Jimin’s voice. "I’m really sorry about what happened. I should’ve reached out more."

Jimin shook his head, offering a reassuring smile. "Don’t be. I needed time to figure things out on my own. But it’s good to see you again, Hobi."
