The sound of rustling leaves and the smell of the flowers scattered around filled the air. There was a light breeze, making the air a little chilly, yet warmly comforting. In the center, here was a plaid-patterned mat laid across the grass, the green color contrasting the red and white patches on the fabric.

Trophy was the one who picked the place, making sure that it would for at least some sort of celebration. He wasn't the type to plan these things, but it was his boyfriend he was planning for, how could he not? Well luckily for him, he knew Cheesy quite well, so it wasn't "too" hard for him anymore.

As Cheesy on top of the soft mat, he lightly kicked his feet as he quietly admired the setup. It made him touched, knowing that Trophy made all of this. As he was in awe, Trophy placed a plate in front of the two. On top, there was a colorful and bright cake covered in frosting and sprinkles. Trophy pulled out a lighter to ignite the candle in the middle, putting it away after.

"Cmon, go make a wish." He said as he looked at the other expectantly. Cheesy closed his eyes for a moment, making a silent wish. After he was done, he opened his eyes and quickly blew out the candle, the smoke fading away into the air. He leaned back with a goofy smile on his face as he kicked his feet faster.

"You wanna eat the cake?" Cheesy immediately nodded vigorously. Trophy feigned annoyance as he sighed and carefully cut the cake with a plastic knife. He gave the bigger slice to Cheesy, leaving a smaller one for himself.

"You really didn't have to..."

"It's actually your birthday, dummy. I had to." He had a small blush on his face as he took a bite out of the cake, trying to avoid staring at Cheesy's cu— Stupid. Stupid face.

As Cheesy ate the slice of cake, he heard faint shuffling. He turned around to see what Trophy was doing and saw Trophy rummaging through the basket in the corner. After a few seconds, he held something in his hands, but he was covering the entirety of it.

"I...also got you a little something." He said as he looked anywhere but the other's face. He opened his hands to reveal a small wrapped box. It had a ribbon that wrapped around its figure, looking like it had been tied in quite a rush. Trophy held out the box in front of Cheesy's hands, staring at the picnic mat as he waited for Cheesy to take it.

"No big deal. Just thought maybe you would like it."

Cheesy took the gift in his hands, seemingly surprised at his awkwardness. It wasn't like Trophy's normal personality at all, but you could guess he just naturally had a certain charm to him that made Trophy immediately crumple up inside. That's the special thing about Cheesy, isn't it?

"Open it already– will you?" He blurted out nervously. The redness of his face got brighter as Cheesy slowly opened the box, revealing a small beaded bracelet inside. It had a little charm on it, seeming like it had some sort of missing piece. [If you're wondering what I meant by "missing piece", it's like those friendship bracelets that can connect!!]

Cheesy's eyes lit up as he realized what the gift was, looking back at Trophy. "Did you make this yourself?"

"...Yeah. I did." He paused for a moment to think of what to say next before continuing. "Don't say it's sappy or whatever, I just wanted to give you something special, that's all..."

"Awh...well, it's actually really sappy." He lightly teased. Cheesy admired the bracelet, setting the box aside as he ran his hands over the beads. It had green and blue beads assorted together, along with a few other dashes and pops of color. "I love it." He wasn't lying one bit. He really did love it. He loved it so much.

"Really?" He finally met Cheesy's eyes, trying not to seem too hopeful about his response. Cheesy nodded as he continued talking. "Help me put it on?" He held out the bracelet, looking back at Trophy.

Trophy grabbed the bracelet as he gently unfastened the bracelet, wrapping around Cheesy's wrist. He fumbled slightly with the clasp before finally securing the bracelet, immediately sitting back up properly.

"There. It looks good on yo–" Trophy got cut off as he felt Cheesy wrap his arms around his waist, pulling him in for an abnormally tight hug. "Thank youuu!!" He beamed as he buried his face into Trophy's shoulder, the warmth from his body coming off of him. Trophy's face got warmer as he hesitantly hugged back, pressing a quick kiss on his head.

"You're welcome, birthday boy..."
