The next day was cold again, the usual hot, cold, hot, cold weather pattern in England which annoyed pretty much everyone. Outside the rain was pouring like a waterfall, there was no end to it and it just got heavier.
I came down in the same outfit I had worn yesterday. When I came to greet the older couple, they beamed at me.
"You're already part of our family, you're like a daughter to us." John had his grip on Anne's waist as she hugged his arm with hot tears building in her eyes.
"We want you to go out and do explore this place, go out and get used to the city. Would you like that?" Anne was looking at me, happiness painted on her face as she gripped his arm tighter.
"Yes. I'd love to." I wanted to get used to the city as well incase I'd have to leg it at some point.
"You can go out after 8 in the afternoon. Is that okay?"
"Yep. Perfect."
"Let's get to work then, aye."*****
I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched all day, that feeling that's always accurate, I had it all day yet when I turned around there was absolutely no one and everyone else was doing their own things, too busy to pay attention to some random girl who had a strange accent and didn't belong in the city.
It was 6 in the afternoon now and I'd just finished wiping the tables, making sure they were polished till my reflection was clear on it. When I looked up, I saw a guy enter, dressed in all black with a cloth that hid his nose and mouth, some tufts of hair fell over his eyes.
He looked at me in the eyes and kept them there, refusing to look away even if I did. I knew I looked like a mess and he probably thought that I was tatty and unkempt. I felt like I knew him from somewhere but I couldn't figure out where exactly, green eyes. Unless... it was... him again. He sat at the table that I was stood before, deliberately brushing his arm against my lower back and making me shiver, it wasn't a nice feeling. He took a seat where he would be facing me, looking right at me in the eyes.
I knew he was smirking at me, he waved at Anne asking for someone to take his order but she didn't see him.
"What can I get for you." My voice came out much stronger than I had thought, though I didn't want it to. He stared at me blankly before furrowing his eyebrows and propping his elbow onto the table, leaning against his huge arm.
"You're the waitress?" He eyed me up and down before raising his eyebrows probably in surprise and smiling with his eyes. They looked so annoying, I had to fight the urge to slap him.
"Yes, I am. Now, what do you want?" I was clearly amusing to him which only made me angry. I couldn't stop the scowl from appearing on my face which only made him smile even more. Something appeared in his eyes, an evil glint, something that made me regret even making conversation with him.
Before I could even react, he grabbed my wrist and stood in front of me, stopping me from escaping, towering over me and now I could see how tall he really was. He was still smiling and I just knew he was trying to intimidate me, but I was too stubborn to back out whether it would cost me my life. I glared daggers at him whilst staring into those deep emerald eyes, though obviously I didn't show anything.
I felt like he wasn't the guy I'd seen from the balcony, I felt like this guy was trouble, danger.
"The fuck do you want, dickhead?" I wanted to yell at him but knew that I'd end up getting a lot of attention and that was one thing I did not want. He stayed silent for a while before chuckling,"You're too ugly for me anyways." He mumbled as he turned around to take a seat.
I scoffed obviously offended at his words but I was definitely up for the challenge.
"Really? Well looks like you couldn't even get the ugly girl to like you." I gave him an evil grin as he glared back at me freezing in his spot, I knew I set his ego on fire.It was already a dangerous game and I had just made it worse. It was going to end up turning into a game of life or death.
Folding my arms across my chest deliberately making him even more angry, I inched my face closer to his."You act hard with me, I'll act hard with you." I gave him my most serious look ever, trying hard not to break down into tears of laughter at the shocked look he was now giving me.
I turned on my heels and was ready to leave until a painfully strong set of hands gripped my waist and pulled me back, hitting my back against a solid hard chest, making me face the glass windows as his hands squeezed my hips.
"Are you trying to threaten me?" He whispered in my ear, his mouth was only inches away and his warm breath slapped on my neck. I don't know why but I felt really uncomfortable, it wasn't like the American dark romance books where they had the urge to fall deeper into the guy's body. It was disgusting, horrid.
"No. I'm just warning a dickhead to not make the same mistake that many other guys have made. Why? You scared?" I laughed at him which only made him angry, I loved pissing people off.
"Sweetheart, you're gonna regret saying that. You don't want to be making enemies with me, do you?" He was whispering through clenched teeth which only heated things up, forcing me to anger him.
"You think I'd be scared of someone like you?" I spat every word at him, looking up at him which seemed to piss him off more.
"Looks like you've made some enemies, sweetheart."He let go of me before lifting my chin up with his fingers, making my gaze shift to his.
"Make sure you remember that." He dragged his finger down my jaw and looked deep into my eyes as if he was searching for something before nodding his head and leaving the shop.
'Enemies' he had said. What have I done? How the fuck did this just happen? Enemies!
I just don't understand how something this stupid could happen in only a few minutes. How is that even possible? Am I that much of a fucking drama Queen?
Ugghh! Why does everything have to happen to me?! I hate everything, everyone. I hate life. And most of all, I hate him.
He gave off a nasty aura, one that made me want to puke.
