.The Yoyle Sky is a deep dark yellow, the starting of the evening . Fanny sits in her break room, looking out the window, sipping a cup of coffee. Fanny is a sickness diagnosis doctor of 3 years. She's well experienced and is good at her job. Fanny continues to look out the window, humming to herself.
Suddenly, her alarm goes off, vibrating the whole table. From the shock of the blaring reminder, she drops her cup, spilling some of her drink on herself. Fanny sighs and curses her bad luck. She goes out of the break room, meeting the empty hallways. She walks towards the left, walking to the changing room. She opens the grey door by scanning her ID card.
-
The only person inside is Soap, a resident from Inanimate Town. She stands at a sink , washing some utensils. Soap tilts her head in a mocking manner.
"Welcome back, Mrs. Bad-Luck." She chuckles.
"Yea yea yea whatev-" Fanny sighs before cutting herself off. "Wait-wait-wait , did you just say 'Mrs'? What happened to 'Ms.'?!"
"Rumours spread like wildfire. Apparently, you have a 'special someone'.." Soap hums playfully.
Fanny's mouth drops in shock. Since when did that happen? How did anyone figure that out? She thinks to herself while cleaning up. Soap leaves the room as she's done cleaning the utensils. Well, she knows herself that she keeps secrets good. And obviously she doesn't act all 'lovey-dovey' around her partner. So if it wasn't her then..
That bastard.
Fanny plans to have a stern talking with him after her shift. She leaves the room, preparing for her next session, notebook in 'hand'. This session is supposed to take 30 minutes of diagnosis, and 1-2 hours of medical service. She clears her head, knowing this is a serious matter. Fanny walks to her diagnosis room, focusing on the situation ahead. The person is already supposed to be in the room, so she doesn't have to wait.
Fanny walks in, and her mouth drops the second time today, this time in confusion. Inside is Clock himself, crossing his legs and looking at her with a playful smirk.
-
"You have got to be kidding me." She spits, walking into the room and throwing her notebook at the floor angrily.
"Hello to you too darling..~" Clock chuckles, keeping his gaze on her. He watches as she paces around the room, occasionally stepping on his foot.
"What is your problem! You ruin my life Clock! I hate you!" Clock grins even more at her response.
"If you don't stop smiling, I swear I'm going to diagnose you with psychopathy and get you sent to a MENTAL ASYLUM!" She spat, glaring hard at Clock with her beady, dark blue eyes. Clock loves the way she looks at him, with so much love and care. He smiles at her more, just looking at her which makes her even more pissed.
"You're going to END ME! Shut up! I hate you! What do you even want?! I thought you were talking a break from your job!" She yells, snapping with rage.
"First of all, I haven't said anything since dea-"
"Your eyes speak your words you bastard!"
"Ahem. I am taking a break from my job, just to see you." He winks at her. Fanny can't deny she feels butterflies in her chest when he winks at her. Instead of blushing like a normal person, she growls at him angrily, similar to a cats growl.
Clock chuckles softly. His laugh sounds like a harmony crafted by God himself. Like the sound of pure joy.
This time, she squirms and her mouth winces. Clock watches her, his head tilting to the side and giving her a smug look. She squirms and winces again. Fanny sits down onto the chair opposite Clock.
"Are you actually sick or are you here just to waste my time?" Fanny spat out harshly, fake bitterness spewing from her mouth like venom. A type of venom that isn't actually poisonous at all. Clock can tell that this venom is perfectly harmless.
"To be honest, yeah. I have actually been feeling sic-"
"And you DID'NT TELL ME? Even though I'm literally a doctor AND we sleep in the same bed! I HATE you!"
"Geez, you're not the type of person to let others finish a sentence." He laughs giddily. Then, his tone gets more serious. "The past few days while I've been doing night shifts, my head has been hurting, I feel dizzy, I've vomited like 3 times, and I'm just genuinely in pain. It hurts a lot, and the night shifts are making it literally unbearable."
Fanny's whole icy demeanour melts away in an instant. Her angry glare at Clock softened. She looks almost heartbroken, completely shattered. Clock panics a bit, thinking he said something wrong. He tries to say something, but nothing comes out of his mouth.
Silence falls between the two of them. Fanny gazes at Clock, desperately trying to think of something to say. Her mouth hangs open, hopefully to be full of words.
"A-And you didn't.. tell me..? Why?.." she managed to mutter out.
Her voice is quiet and soft, very unlike her. Clock mumbles to himself, trying to fathom why she's so emotional right now and how to explain himself.
"W-Well.. Uhm.." he directs his gaze from Fanny, not being able to look her in the eye. "It's just that.. you've been so busy at work, because of winter and that it's so — uhm.. cold. With all the people coming to the hospital, I decided I, uhh.. didn't want to.. worry you..?" Clock says, stumbling over almost every word. At this point it sounds like he's trying to convince himself of this statement.
Fanny looks like she's about to cry. Clocks seen her emotional before, but never this much. He looks down at the floor — his small legs dangling off the comfy white chair, feeling ashamed of himself. He then hears a sniff from Fanny. His head snaps to look up at his girlfriend.
"F-Fanny..? Wait no.. please don't cry because of me.. no-"
Fanny then jumps off her own chair, her notebook and pen flying beside her. Clock noticed that she hasn't wrote a thing. Back to Fanny, she springs onto Clocks legs and hugs her with legs. She hugs him as tight as possible.
"I'm so sorry Clock. I shouldn't have shut myself out, I'm sorry.." her soft words turn into incoherent mumbles as she embraces all of Clock.
"Shh.. it's not your fault.. it's just a flu, probably I mea-" Clock mutters to make her feel better, but gets cut off from her once again.
"It's maybe a mix of a flu and a stomach bug. I'm so sorry, I should've realised earlier.. I'll help you get better, I promise." She mumbles, love flowing from all her words. Clock's barely ever seen this side of her, but still he loves it. He loves everything about her anyways.
He kisses on the forehead gently, being slow and deliberate. He can feel Fanny heat up so much in his legs, that her propellers blow softly against him.
"I hate you," she mumbles, but then something in her changes. Her eyes spark up, the dull blue becoming more bright. "No, I love you.." Fanny's eyes shine as she directly faces Clock.
"I love you too, my dear.."
