Now, it's officially Christmas! Dan, Phil and Louise all came to my place. I'm a little worried. Nobody has ever been to my apartment. It's all clean and stuff. I'm just worried... For no reason I guess.
I quickly took a shower, and then got dressed. Then, I quickly did my hair and make up. And then, I went to the living room, clicked the TV on, and put the Yule Log on. Then, I went to my room and grabbed all my gifts and put them on the coffee table. I didn't have a fake tree, so I just put them there. Dan was coming over early so we could make cookies!
After a few minutes, there was a knock on the door. I smiled and skipped to the door. I pulled it open and saw Dan in a black winter jacket, and he was holding a large gift bag that held his gifts.
"Hello, Daniel." I smiled. "Come on in." I nodded behind me. He smiled and walked in to my apartment.
"Where's the tree?" Dan asked, turning around and looking at me with disbelief.
"I don't have one." I said, closing the door.
"How do you not have a Christmas Tree?"
"Dan, I didn't buy one. I don't really have the space." I said, looking at him.
"That's no fun though."
"I've never really celebrated." I shrugged. "Just put them in the coffee table." I pointed. Dan groaned and unzipped his jacket, revealing a sweater that had a black Santa on it.
"Nice sweater." I chuckled, taking his jacket.
"Oh. Thanks." He smiled big. I went to my room and placed his coat on my bed. I walked back out to the living room. Dan was sitting on the couch holding a small box with a ribbon tied on to it.
"Come here." He smiled at me. I walked over to the couch and sat next to him. He handed me the small box.
"Dan, I thought we were going to wait for Phil and Louise."
"I got you something I didn't want them to see." Dan smiled slightly. I nodded and grabbed the main gift for him.
"Well, I wanted to give this to you after they left. But, now seems like a good time." I smiled and held out his gift. We traded. He slowly tore the wrapping paper off the book.
"Charlotte, this is beautiful. When did you get it?" Dan asked, looking through the book.
"The publisher sent it to me last week. It's the first copy. First edition. So, there might be some sort of screw up in it." I smiled.
"No. This... This is perfect. It looks amazing." Dan smiled and held the book on his lap.
"Thank you." I smiled.
"Now, open yours." He smiled. I undid the ribbon and open the lid on the box. Laid inside the box was a necklace with a sloth charm on it (see photo).
"Sorry it's not as good as what you go-"
"No. It's perfect." I looked up at him and smiled. I picked it up. "Care to help?" I asked, turning around so he could clasp my new necklace. Dan chuckled and then helped me.
"Thanks. Let's go make cookies before the others get here." I patted his legs. We both got up and went to the kitchen.
"Now, I have the cut and put in the oven kind of cookies and I also have make from scratch. You can pick." I said, pulling out a cookie sheet pan.
"Let's do... The cut and oven ones. We aren't filming anything for Phil's channel." Dan said. I laughed and went to the fridge, pulling out the raw cookie dough.
