Chapter 12

(This chapter is really long. I'm sorry about that. I had to many chapters based off one subject.)

"When I left, he was still asleep. And that was an hour ago." Giselle said, as we approached his room. I nodded. "This is his room. You guys can go in." She said. I looked at Dan and he nodded. I grabbed his hand and we walked into the room.

"Daddy?" I gasped. He was laying in the hospital bed.

Dan rubbed my back.

"Charlotte?" Dad looked at me. "You're here?" He asked. He had some tears forming in his eyes.

"Yeah. I'm here. I came here just for you." I smiled and walked over to his bed, and grabbed his hand.

"Oh. I missed you so much." He sniffed.

"I know. I missed you too." I nodded and wiped my eyes. "I came here just for you." I kissed his hand. Dan came over to me and rubbed soothing circles on my back.

"Who's this young man?" Dad asked, coughing while he asked.

"Oh. Dad, this is Daniel. He's my boyfriend. I met him out in London." I looked up a Dan and smiled.

"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Bradbury, sir." He smiled and held out his hand. Dad took it and shook.

"Thank you for taking care of my Charlotte." Dad held Dan's hand with both of his. I smiled and wiped my eyes.

"Thank you." My dad said again. Dan smiled and nodded.

"You're welcome, sir." Dan smiled.

"Please, Mark." Dad smiled at Dan.

"Thank you, Mark. It was nice meeting you." Dan smiled.

"Where's mom?" I asked, wiping my eyes and standing up next to Dan.

"She...she" Dad took a deep breath and wiped his nose. "She went to the house to take a shower and see how Emilia is." He finished with a deep breath.

"Daddy, maybe you should get some rest. I'll be here when you wake up." I said, pecking his forehead.

"Promise me you won't leave till I'm gone." He grabbed my hand and whispered. I looked at him and tears started to form.

"Don't say that, Dad. Don't you dare say that. You're not going to die." I wiped my eyes. Dad held my cheek and looked at me.

"Charlotte, just promise me you won't leave me till I'm gone." He said, rubbing his thumb over my cheek.

"Okay. I promise." I nodded. "I won't leave you till you're- I won't leave-" I stopped talking as a sob got caught in my throat. "Get some rest. Dan and I will be here when you wake up." I nodded, and held his hand that was on my cheek. "Do you hear me? We'll be back when you wake up."

"Yes. I hear you, Charlotte." He nodded. I kissed is forehead again and stood up. I grabbed Dan's hand and we walked out. I wiped my eyes. Dan gave me a side hug and we went out to the street.

"Can we- can we stop at their house? I would like to see my mother and Emilia." I asked, looking up at Dan. He nodded. "Thank you." I added.

"You're welcome, Charlotte." He nodded and kissed my cheek. We walked out and hailed a taxi. One came. Dan and I slid in and I gave the driver the address. We soon went off.

"Your dad is very nice and very kind. I can see where you get it." Dan nodded.

"Yeah. He likes you. And that's good. He didn't like the previous one." I chuckled lightly. Dan looked down at me and kissed me on the lips, again.
