"We don't have a choice, Sir. There's no chance we have at capturing or killing them all," Admiral Lilith stated. She had been trying for hours on end, yet Philip seemed adamant on his plan. She didn't understand how he could be so stubborn at a time of crisis.

Philip stood up, folding his hands behind his back, and said, "Admiral, I already told you. We will send as many guards as necessary to do what we must."

"We don't have time! We don't have enough guards to spare!" Lilith shouted back, slamming both her hands on the table. She clenched her jaw underneath the helmet, but didn't let it show with the cloak on the visor. "There's nobody we can rely on except for her ."

"I gave strict orders to leave her be, Admiral," Philip stated, glaring at Lilith, but didn't dare move. "You will not be disobeying that order, no matter how dire of a situation this is."

"You and I both know she is the only person that can stop them," Lilith shot. "I've said this a million times since you called me here! We NEED her to do this!"

"My orders are to be followed exactly as they were given," Philip said, placing both his hands on the edge of the table and leaning against it. He stared at Admiral Lilith for another moment before he stated, "These are my final orders, Lilith. We will retrieve them with our guards. We have not and will never call on her. You said so yourself, Admiral. She never deserved it."

Lilith curled her fingers in until her hands turned to fists. She closed her eyes, holding back every bit of anger filling her body, before she said, "Then you'll have no choice but to demote me. Because I'm going after her whether you like it or not."

Lucia stared at the ceiling in the middle of the night, listening to the quiet nocturnal sounds from outside. Off to her left, she heard Amelia's soft breathing as she slept. "Four months, and still no progress on curing my insomnia. Little to no sleep every day, yet still handling everything just fine. They really screwed me up."

Lucia sighed as she rolled onto her side, facing Amelia, but looked beyond to stare at the wall. She looked at the posters and paintings she had gotten sometimes during her life before she was taken. They were still confusing to her, but over the past four months since she was released, she was beginning to understand them better. With her combat experience and training, it was still much easier to analyze and find things most people would never notice. Unfortunately, those skills weren't what she needed to learn about the things she used to be interested in.

Lucia lay there for what felt like another hour before she heard something snap outside. She held her breath to try and pick up on what was happening, yet it all fell silent again. She closed her eyes to numb one of her senses to sharpen her hearing, even if it felt unnecessary.

Past Amelia's breathing, Lucia picked up on two sets of quiet footsteps walking around. There was a familiar rhythmic tapping that accompanied the footsteps. The tapping paused, and then picked back up without warning. Less than a few seconds later, everything stopped entirely.

Lucia focused her hearing, trying to pick up on anything that could hint to who or what was outside. A steady minute passed before, from somewhere she couldn't locate, a chorus bone chilling clicks echoed from every side. She shuddered as goosebumps creeped along her body before a second chorus sounded. That was what kicked in her fight or flight, and she quickly jumped from the bed, phased into the middle of the room, conjured a blinding orb of light, and summoned a razor sharp sword within a split second.
