The next morning, Nandini woke and found herself in her husband's arms. He was still asleep. She looked at his sleeping face and a smile crept up her face.
She carefully got out of his arms trying not to wake him up. She walks to the bathroom to do her morning routine. After sometime, she emerges from the bathroom wearing a yellow saree. She was drying her wet hairs with a towel.
She goes to her dressing table. She applies vermilion in her hairline and some tint on her lips.
After she is ready, she looks back at her husband who was still fast asleep on her bed. She goes near him. Her eyes admire his sleeping face.
She lean down and peck his forehead gently. She turned around to leave but a strong hand wraps around her bangle clad wrist. She squealed when Arjun abruptly pulled her on top of him.
"Leaving without wishing me good morning?" He asked in his husky voice. His sleepy voice sounded deeper. His eyes were still closed.
"I thought you were asleep." Nandini said resting her head on his chest. "I was asleep until my beautiful wife decided to bless me with a gentle peck on my forehead." He said with still closed eyes. She blushed.
"Just because my eyes are closed doesn't mean I don't know that I made you blush." He remarked making her face turn red.
"Arjun, I need to go. Leave me. I didn't even worship Kanha yet." She said trying to get up but he wrapped his arm around her waist holding her in place.
"Please don't go, right now." He said nuzzling in her hairs. "I have to go." She replied.
"Why do you even get by worshipping him?" He asked with an annoyed face. "Everything isn't about gain or loss. I feel peace by worshipping him." She replied with a gentle smile.
"I don't believe him anymore. I begged him to help me that day but...." He stopped in middle of his words realising what he just blurted out.
Nandini looked in his eyes with a confused expression but he looked away. "What do you mean? Which day are you talking about?" She asked with a frown. His eyes flickered with an emotion but he quickly masked it with a blank look.
"Aren't you getting late for worship?" He asked changing the topic. He got successful in diverting her mind as she nodded and stood up rushing out of the room to the Puja room.
As she left, he sat up on the bed. He ran a hand through his hair. An unreadable expression crept up his face. His eyes looked distant devoid of any emotion.
"I was about to mention that day in front of her. The day of my vulnerability. The day I lost everything." He whispered staring blankly at nothingness. There was a hint of pain in his eyes.
Nandini finished her worship and went to the kitchen to make breakfast. She was peacefully cooking when she felt two strong arms wrapped around her waist from behind.
She squealed at the sudden touch. "Relax, it's me, my lady. No one else has the guts to touch my wife." He said resting his chin on her shoulder and closing his eyes.
"I am cooking. Leave me." She said trying to come out of his hold. "Who is stopping you? You can cook." He said tightening his hold around her waist.
"Someone will see....." She tried to make her point but he interrupted her. "No one will see. I asked the maids to vacate kitchen and dining area." He told her.
She turned off the gas stove as her food was ready. She tried to move but he didn't let her move.
"Leave me. I have to serve your breakfast." She said but he didn't move an inch. "So you won't leave me?" She asked.
