The abandoned house was drowned in darkness. The only source of light was the slightly ajar window.
The torn curtains, the creaking floor, everything was a sign of the destruction the house once faced.
The presence of a lady was a contrast to the usual emptiness of the house. Her fingers traced the cracks on the wall.
Tears were streaming down her face. Her face was pale. She looked at the broken TV.
"Mumma, why do you always watch these saas-bahu shows?" The little girl asked with frustration.
"You don't like it?" Her mother asked. The little girl shook her head in denial.
"Then, why do always watch this show with me? I know you love it." Her mother said narrowing her eyes playfully.
"I don't love this show. I love you. That's why I watch this with you." The little girl said hugging her mother.
Sobs erupted from the lady's throat. Her gaze fell on the broken toys.
"Princess, see what Papa brought for you." A man said entering the house.
"What did you bring, Papa." The little girl asked running towards her father with her little legs.
"This doll set. You wanted this, right?" Her father said handing her the toy. The girl smiled happily. "Thank you, Papa. Thank you so much. I love you. You are the best." The girl exclaimed while her father gladly took her in his embrace.
The lady's sobs turned into heart wrenching cries. Her cries echoed in the empty house.
"I am tired of pretending. I can't do this anymore. I can't pretend that I don't know anything when I do." The girl's voice cracked with sobs. She fell on her knees.
"No, please. Don't hurt them. I will do whatever you will say. But please not them." The girl pleaded as two guards held her.
Some men dressed in black pointed their guns at her mother and father who were lying on the floor badly injured.
"N-No, princess. E-Escape from h-here. Y-You have to l-live for your u-us." The man said and coughed blood.
"This place is a constant reminder of my haunting past. Yet I can't help but come here because this is the place that holds the best memories." Her lips trembled.
Her gaze fell on a huge photo frame hung on the wall. It was a family photo. The lady in the photo had a young girl in her arms who was smiling widely. The man's arm encircled the lady's shoulder.
She traced the photo with her fingers as more tears dropped from her eyes. "I miss you Mumma, Papa. Please, come back. I need you. Your princess needs you. I..." Her voice cracked. She leaned her forehead on the photo.
"You left me alone in this cruel world. I crave for you every single day." Her shoulders were shaking with sobs.
"I remember the way they destroyed my happy family. I won't forgive him. I will avenge your death. He will regret his deeds every day." She said as her teary eyes gleamed with determination.

Nandini was roaming in the house while scrolling on her phone. She was busy in her phone and didn't notice her surroundings.
Suddenly, her phone slipped from her hand and fell on the ground. She quickly picked up her phone and started checking if it broke. Thankfully, it didn't break.
She finally noticed her surroundings. She was standing infront of a door which was always locked. She asked Arjun about it many times but he always avoided the question with different excuses.
