POOR CORALINE WAS at brunch with her mother when she received ethan's horrible series of texts.

her mother was quick to question her sudden change in behavior, but she couldn't bare the thought of telling her the problem and having to receive pitiful looks from her for the rest of their time together, so she simply didn't. she just had to try and keep her cool.

she's confident that she failed in that job, however. she kept glancing around at the people eating around them, and cautiously staring out the window they were in front of like a damn fool. what can she say? she's a little—a lot—on edge at the possibility of running into her ex boyfriend whom she hasn't seen for five years. the anxiety of just being outside in the city is enough right now; she can't even imagine how it will be at the wedding.

she wishes that she could go back to the comfort of her own home after brunch with her mother, but she has to work tomorrow, and she told mikey and fantasia that she'd get groceries, so she to do that today.

she was already stressed about a multitude of things—and yes, they all had to do with nicholas—but now it is ten times worse. she's just trying, again, to keep her cool as she walks into the grocery store. she internally tells herself it's just a grocery store. no big deal.

despite her pathetic attempt at self-comfort, her eyes still scope out the area she walks into. she takes a quick overview of all the people around her and doesn't like the feeling in her stomach. she shoves it down though, and grabs a basket before making her way to the produce section.

she grabs bananas, pears, and avacados as she quietly hums to the melody of the familiar song blaring through the speakers. she finds herself feel more and more at peace the further down her mental grocery list she gets, and momentarily allows herself to let go of the worries plaguing her mind.
