A few hours had gone since I'd been at the workplace. To be honest, I was becoming bored. I couldn't help but think of Kamala as my thoughts kept returning to her. Why is it that she hasn't called me in her office yet? Better yet, why hasn't Allie expressed that she needs me in her office? I started to sketch out of boredom since I was stuck with my ideas. I didn't have much left to do because Kamala's schedule had been finished.
My phone suddenly lit up and displayed a message from Franky.
"What ya doinnn?" She said with her smiling face emojis.
If I was being honest, that made me smile warmly. I adored Franky a lot because she was always there for me. I really would go to any lengths for her.
"Paperwork and more paperwork, I said with a tired emoji. You wanna play me in pool?"
"Of course, but just be ready to take your L Beth." She said with laughing emojis.
"We'll see about that. Let's spice things up by having the loser prepare dinner for the other.
"Okay bet, I'm definitely about to kick your ass in this game."
I was startled out of my phone when I heard a knock at my door. It was Allie, with her wide, inviting smile. "Hey, the president has asked for you in her office." Oh? I said, appearing a little perplexed.
"She seems a little tense today, so you ought to prepare yourself."
'Is she okay, I asked with a look of concern?"
"I'm not sure but I think I heard her having a small argument on the phone with her husband."
"That sucks, I said, while tilting my head and standing up to leave." It actually didn't. After the way she touched me, I could care less about her husband. "As I was walking out, Allie noticed my white button up and and grey skirt."She said, "You look so pretty today," grazing my shirt a little.
"Thanks Allie, I said with a small a little too big."
"Of course, it really brings out your curves."
I braced myself against the nervousness I was experiencing as I walked to the office. Why the hell do I feel nervous in her presence? I knocked a few times, experiencing flashbacks. "Come in." Avoid being gay. Beth, please don't be gay. I entered, shutting the door behind me. She didn't even seem to notice me walk in, as she didn't look up at me right away. Following what seemed like ages, she looked up from her stack of papers. Her eyes starting from my head to my toe.
"Ms Taylor, come sit."
Swallowing the lump in my throat, I sat down crossing my legs. She watched my every movement. I felt like the walls were closing in on me, so I started looking everywhere but at her. She looked at me with dark eyes, almost like she wanted to lunge at me. "Ms Taylor, I saw that you emailed me the schedule from yesterday, and I wanted to tell you in person that you did a great job. I also love your outfit today, dear. It really compliments your ocean blue eyes. I was trying to get in her ocean though after that compliment. I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks.
"T-Thankyou, Kamala. I had to make sure to say her name instead of Madam President. But the flashbacks made me want to do it on purpose. Just then, there was a firm knock at her door. She sighed, slightly annoyed.
"Come in."
Before I could raise my head, I heard "Hello, Honey," followed by heavy footsteps.
It was Doug. He walked over behind her desk and kissed her right on the lips in front of me. Of course he didn't know I had a crush on his wife, but damn why did it make me feel kind of annoyed? "Hi, dear", she said while returning the kiss.
"Hello, you must be the new secretary?" he said this with a warm smile, but it honestly just bugged me.
"Yes, that's me. I'm Elizabeth, it's nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you as well," he reached out for my hand and shook it. I hope that you like your new job, I know my wife can have a pretty busy schedule.
"There's nothing I can't handle," I stated, glancing between them. He turned back to Kamala and said, "That's the spirit." I glanced down shaking, trying not to look weird. I began tapping my fingers on my thigh. I've been using this tactic for years to get out of awkward situations. She gave me a glance, noticing my tapping ."I was just stopping by to check on you, and to make sure you're ready to go on the show later."
"I've been speaking in front of audiences for a long time now so it's gonna be a piece of cake, dear."
"Dear?" I thought that was her name for me?
"You'll do great honey."
He turned back, making his way out of the door. The tension in the air began to build, and I could feel it. She gave me that smile in return. She came up to me and took hold of my hand to help me get up. "Dear, follow me." She led the way to the middle couch. Neither of us was close to the other. I had no idea what she aimed at, but it was getting me heated up. She moved really close to me, rubbing my bare thigh. It sent a shiver down my spine. Slowly, she began tapping my thigh.
"Why do I make you so nervous, mama?"
Fuck. she was using my own mechanism against me. Not to mention that "MAMA "word? I was about to fold before anything had even started. I started to feel the juices flowing down there.
I was very hesitant to answer, looking down.
She cupped my face while staring into my soul with those brown eyes. "Talk to me, dear." I want you to look at me with those beautiful blue eyes of yours. What about me makes your face redden? I was kind of pale as fuck so she definitely noticed.
"Umm.. I-."
"Use your words, mama."
If she said that word again, I swear we would both end up naked.
"You're a bit, intimidating Madam President." I said that nervously, hoping she didn't realize that I called her the wrong name.
"Intimidating? In what way?" With a sly smile on her face, she said.
"Not in a bad way, but in a good way. Your presence is very strong, your scent, even down to the way you dress. It just gives me a good anxious feeling. She looked at me with a small grin and raised eyebrow. Realizing what I had just said, I started slowly looking away feeling the embarrassment. She noticed immediately and grabbed my chin before I could even look down.
"Don't be nervous, dear. I didn't know I had that effect on you." She tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, while our chests are almost touching. I could feel her breath on mine. She started to lean in and gently plant a kiss on my lips. Her lips were very full and soft. I settled into the kiss without hesitation. It felt so surreal. Like something we both longed for without knowing.
"Kamala I-"
"Shh, no talking dear."
She placed a finger over my lips and began kissing me again. It was very gentle and intimate. "What if someone walked In?" I thought to myself. She began pulling away, her eyes big. The realization must have started settling in for her.
I'-I'm sorry, Beth. I shouldn't have done that."
Wtf, no why did she have to stop? That kiss felt so fiery and passionate. Like we were the only people in the world.
"I'm going to excuse myself Ms Taylor, I have to get ready for the show. You may go back to your office." She stood up quickly, not even looking at me. As she left, there was a long silence.
What the fuck just happened?
