We slept through the night peacefully. Our bodies tangled into one. I was clinging to her body like it was my own teddy bear. The sound of an alarm clock woke us up, but Kamala was still sound asleep and I didn't want to wake her, but we had to get up for work. This was the first time I've been to her house and I ended up staying the night. Looking down, Kamala's eyes fluttered open and she immediately met my gaze. "Good morning, Beth." That smile so welcoming and warm. I couldn't help but to smile back.

"Good morning, Kamala." I tucked a few strands of hair behind her ears. Once her hair was out of her face I showered her with kisses starting from her forehead and then down to her cheeks. I placed kisses all around her face. I felt like a teenager in love.

She began to laugh at my affection. "You're such a lover girl, but I love it." Cupping my face and looking deeply into my eyes. "Gosh, your eyes are even more blue when you wake up in the morning." She placed a kiss on my lips and then my nose.

"They're more blue because I got to wake up and see you, Madam President."

She blushed at my words, biting her lip. "You're so beautiful, dear. Never forget that."

Her comment made me a little emotional. I felt so safe in her arms, like nothing could harm me. We snuggled up into the blankets for a little longer before getting ready to tackle our day. I grabbed her hand interlocking our fingers. "Are you ready to take on the day?" I asked, wanting to know how she felt this morning.

"I'd rather be lying here with you today, but we've got a long day ahead, dear."

Tilting my head I asked, "How come?"

"Well, I have quite a bit of meetings to attend and I believe I have to do an interview for a replacement position."

"New position? What is it?"

"Tim is needing an assistant and he's not the best with interviews so I'll be taking over in his place."

"As much as I want to stay like this, we should probably get up and start getting ready then. I still have to go home and shower."

Looking at me with furrows brows, she stopped me from getting up. "Don't be silly, you can shower here and just wear something of mine." My heart fluttered, was she always this freakin cute?

"Okay, I'll just stay here and get ready then."

She smiled, grabbed my hand and led us upstairs to shower. Her house was huge and well decorated. Even her stairs were soft. "You really know how to decorate, Kamala."

"Thank you, Beth I try to give it that comfortable home look."

We walked into the last room down the hall which I was assuming was her and Doug's room but I didn't see any sign of him sleeping in here. I wasn't sure if I should ask but I didn't want to have it on my mind all day so I did. "Kamala?"

"Yes, baby?"

"Do you and Doug sleep in this room together?"

She looked at me with a soft face. "Unfortunately, we don't. He sleeps in the room down the hall."

"How come?" I was trying to tread lightly with the questions not wanting to push her too hard but I was curious.

She took a breath in before answering. "Well, I used to love Doug at a point in time. He was perfect in my eyes. Great humor, great partner... but."

"But what? Did he do something?"

"It wasn't him, it was me. I knew I liked woman but I couldn't act on it while being married. I've have sexual relations with other women before but nothing more than that. My desire for them became stronger the longer we were together and I wanted to ignore them but I couldn't. He knows this, we've fought about it before and for his sake, I tried to stay faithful. That was until I met you. From the moment I saw you, I knew you were special and you weren't like the rest."
