Chris
Next the morning I was content to see Savon right next to me. This was how I want it to continue to be. My mind was clear, I worked better, and I felt better as a man with her by my side. Last night I gave her idea a try to sleep outside, but it didn't work out for long. We had to head back inside due to it being a little chillier than expected, and I was also getting a crook in my neck.
Savon could barely move in my bed without me being right under her. I probably got on her damn nerves pulling her close every time she switched positions, but she put up with it well enough to adjust every time. Too bad being at peace only lasted me till morning. Before I knew it the detox symptoms kicked in, my new bedroom became the bathroom.
"Can I get you a water or something?"
"No, it's going to come back up. I just need to clear this shit."
"Your phone been going off, I didn't want to interrupt you though. You were leaning over the toilet for the last twenty minutes."
"Who is it?" I asked.
"Amika..."
Damn! I thought to myself, I forgot I said I was watch Aeko today. By the time I took the phone from Savon I had missed the call.
"It's okay, I need to get back home anyways since you have family coming through. Maybe later I can bring you by something if you're free."
"I'm sorry, I forgot I said I would watch my son today. I'm trying to see if I can cancel."
"Looks like he'll be watching you if you can't cancel!"
Standing up from the floor I washed my mouth out. "I'm sure this ain't the type of morning you thought you would have, I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize, I had fun. From being here with you, being chased by Damu, and ending it with a kiss even though I can still smell ten cans of bounce that ass seeping through the mouthwash."
I laughed, "you got jokes! C'mon, I at least should have enough time to be able to take you home."
"Not with your stomach erupting the way that it is, it's fine. I'll manage on my own."
Savon and I had began walking down the stairs when suddenly there was a loud knock on the door, with two silhouettes on the other side. One average and the other short. Immediately, Savon ran back up the stairs to hide not knowing what else to do.
"I been calling you all morning, what the hell? I'm late now for my appointment."
"Since you missed it, y'all might as well turn around. Today isn't a good day, I feel like shit."
"No Chris, it's too late. You promised, plus I rescheduled for a later time."
"Daddy!" Aeko hugged my leg.
