I rehearse my routines while I can. Only a couple of days until the contest.
I'm nervous,it's the biggest competition of the year,only the best of the best will be there. While practicing my 5 spin tower catch left blind a small blonde girl,her mom,and her brother(I'm guessing) come in.
"Oh my gosh! Mom that's her!" The blonde girl says.
"Hi I'm sorry to bother you,but can you tell us where Miss Brooklyn Earnest is?" The mom says.
"I can take you to her office."
"No you don't have-"
"I insist,"I bend down to the small girl,"Would you like a picture or anything."
"A picture." She says excitedly.
We pose and the mom snaps the picture.
"Come on,I'll show you to Miss Brooke's office." They follow me and I walk into the office.
"Hey,we have a possible family."
"Wonderful! Send them in!" I send them in.
While the mom and Miss Brooke talk I talk with Hayes and Skylynn.
"Hey Skylynn,you look about the size I was when I was smaller. Would you like to try on the costume I wore when I won my first Miss Majorette of America?"
"The purple one?"
"Yes."
"Please."
I took her to the dressing room and gave it to her,then went back outside.
"So you're the famous Kaecie Amils?" Hayes asks.
"Your the famous Hayes Grier?"
"Touché."
"So how old are you?"
"Eighteen."
"I'll turn eighteen next semester. Are you going to college?"
"Yea,Florida. You?"
"University of Georgia." (A/N Go Dawgs).
"Why UGA?"
"Nicole Jensen,Jameson Kenerly,and Ashley Clark. Why UF?"
"My brother,Will,went there and I've loved the idea ever since."
"Got it."
"How's this look?" Skylynn comes out.
"Girl you look gorgeous." I coo.
"Can I show my mom?"
"Let me go get her." I walk back into the office and say,"Miss Brooke I let Skylynn try on my purple costume. She looks stunning."
"Bring her to me." Miss Brooke tell me.
Once Skylynn comes in the two women coo over her.
"She can use it,I just want it back. It has sentimental values."
"I will. Thanks for everything you've done today,Kace."
"Of course!" I smile then make my way back to Studio C.
I bump into someone,"Sorry Shawn."
He helps me up and kisses my cheek,"It's okay,Kace."
Shawn's sister Aaliyah,twirls here so he just runs errands for teachers. We're not dating but we act like we are.
We've kissed a couple times though.
"I'll see you later?"
"Yea sure." He says and I walk into the studio and run through my strut.
