"Why doesn't he know about Alexis?" Kaya asks me.
"He seems like he really likes her,and I don't want to ruin their relationship. Who knows she may've changed. Still,he doesn't need to know." I answer.
"Okay,but remember what you promised me." She says.
"I do,and we're here. Have fun and love you." I tell her as she gets out.
"Love you,Kace."
Hayes just pulled over by the driveway so it'd be easier for him to follow me,so I pull out and head towards the hotel.

"This hotel is nice." Hayes says.
"That's because I got a suite." I chuckle.
"It can still be nice suite or not."
"True. So what do you want to do?" I ask.
"Just hang out? I can call like two of my friends."
"Sure go ahead."
I text two of my friends,Gracee McDaniel and Jenna Walters.
Me: hang out @ the hotel w/ a couple guys coming?
GraceeM🤗: be there soon but who's the guys?
JJ😎: ^what idiot said.
Me: idk but 1/3 of them is Hayes Grier

"Two of my friends are coming. So are your guy friends coming?" I tell Hayes.
"Yea,Shawn's coming and one of my friends,Conner Jones." Hayes says.
"Well my friends are Gracee McDaniel and Jenna Walters." I tell him.
After conversing about 10 minutes,we hear a knock on the door and it's our friends.
I knew everyone but the Conner guy,but he looks chill enough.
"Come on,Shawn!" Gracee begs.
"Only if Kaecie sings with me." Shawn says.
"No I can't-" I start.
"I've heard you sing before. You can sing."
"Okay so what song?" I ask.
"Everything Has Changed by Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran?" He asks.
"Sure."
(A/N Switching up the parts and they only sing the first verse until the chorus.)

"That was great,Kace and Shawn!" Jenna compliments us.
"Thanks." I smile at her.
"Shawn sing Sweater Weather." Hayes says.
"Yea I agree with Benny over here." Conner says.
"No no,that's too casual. Call him Benjamin." I say in a posh voice.
Conner and I crack up laughing.
"Guys...." Hayes drags out.
"Sorry." I manage to say still laughing.
My phone starts buzzing and I don't recognize the number so I tell everyone I'll be right back and go out in the hallway.
"Hey babe,now that you're not that freakishly ugly,fat,and weird anymore. Come hang out we'll have lots of fun." Says one of the voices that tortured me,most of my life.
"Edward Nate Larson." I say into the phone.
"So pretty girl knows my name. Now yours is Kaecie Lynn Amils?" He says.
"Nate,stop calling me. I don't want you ever around me."
"That's not what happened two years ago. Then,you couldn't get enough of me."
"Lies!"
"Especially when you screamed out my name."
"To get you to STOP! Don't call me anymore,don't think about me,don't contact me,nothing Nate. Have a nice life." I say and hang up on him.
"Everything all right?" Gracee asks when I walk in.
"Yea,everything's fine." I sigh.
"Well,it was nice hanging out. It's getting kinda late though." Conner says.
A choruses of 'Yeas' go about and everyone but Shawn leaves.
"Kace,you have to tell him about Alexis." Shawn says.
"What if she's not the same as she was then?" I ask.
"Still,he needs to know. He needs to know what she's done."
"Which part? The one where she told me that my mom and sister probably wanted to die because I was an awful person,made her boyfriend beat me up everyday,or the fact that she sent me home crying everyday to an abusive father who made it worse?" By the time I say that I'm crying.
"All of it. Take it one step at a time though."
"Thanks,Shawn. You should go,it's late."
"Bye,Kaecie." He says leaving the room.
I turn off the lights and read my Bible,as a text pops up.
Unknown: tell Hayes and your life will be worse. -xoxo YWN (your worst nightmare)😘
"Oh no." I say as flashbacks flood my mind.
I get on my messages and text someone important.
Me: we need to talk. tomorrow @ 8:30 am,IHOP?
I know he'll probably meet me,but I'm worried if he doesn't. He knows secrets no one else does,and I trust him most. Although we haven't talked in two years at least. Who knows he could've changed,since he probably became popular after the incident.
He responds with a 'see you soon'. I wonder if those feelings still exist,he used to keep me up all night thinking about us. What if my feelings haven't changed and his has? He was my first everything in a boyfriend category,except love and ya know,even if the second wasn't technically chosen,but anyways we hadn't quite achieved loved by the time I moved. I remember the last couple of sentences of that letter. Sorry I couldn't be the one to protect you for the rest of your life,I'm sorry I haven't always been the perfect boyfriend,but you were always the perfect girlfriend. Thanks for showing me a new outlook on life.
