three:Does He Like Her?

I slam my door behind me and feel my phone vibrate. It's Hayes.
Hayesss🤘🏻: Where'd you go? are you ok?
Me: fine just needed to take care of something. good luck tonight! she's pretty😏
Yea a pretty,stuck up,bitch. I think.
I sit down on my bed and think of all the things that's happened between me and Alexis Anderson.
"Yea freak,why don't you actually get a life and stop trying so hard. In fact why don't you go take something to make you prettier,because looking like that no guy would want you." Alexis eyes me,"No wonder her mother and sister are dead,they probably wanted away from her."
I turn and run barely holding in my tears.
"And don't come back!" You could hear Alexis's fake laugh from a mile away.

He punches my stomach and I can already tell there's going to be bruises.
"Can you please stop?" Is all I can get out.
"Don't speak unless spoken to. Got it?" And he slaps me across my face.
"Babe,she's had enough for right now. I mean getting beat from the football star is just honorable isn't it?" Alexis says.
"Sure whatever Alexis. You up for tonight?" He winks at her.
"Totally." She bats her eyelashes at him as he walks away.
She catches me watching them,"Who said you could look at me. I'm too popular for a lowlife-ugly unpopular fatass like you." She kicks me in the stomach and leaves me on the ground in pain.
By the second thought of her,my vision is already blurry. I get up to go to get a towel to wipe the tears and my makeup off when my breath shortens and I can't catch it,my chest is in so much pain,I start sweating,and feeling like I'm going to throw up.
I calm myself down after a couple minutes,like usual. I get up to wash the stickiness off my face,and look at myself in the mirror.
I look like the same girl from those flashbacks.
It's been two years-two peaceful years-without Alexis Anderson.
People change,maybe she's grown up.
What if she's still the same person she was two years ago?
Then again it may not even be her.
Of course it's her she knew your name.
This is all too much so I lay down on my bed and drift off to sleep.

"Hey Kace!" I hear Hayes and I turn to see him running up to me.
"How was your date last night?" I ask him.
"Great,Alexis loved the idea. Thanks so much." A grin spreads across his face.
"Glad I could help." I fake smile.
"What's wrong?" He asks.
If he really likes her I can't tell her what kind of monster she is,especially if she's changed.
"Oh I'm just stressed,about competitions coming up. It's nothing." I say hoping it sounded convincing.
"Okay. So Alexis told me about how you guys used to go to the same school." He says.
"Yea,I've known Alexis a long time."
"she said the whole school misses you."
Yea misses beating me.
"I miss them too."Lie,"But I also like my new school,too."Not a complete lie,considering I'm homeschooled.
"Well that's good. So what'd you have to do last night?" He says curiously.
"Oh I had to help someone." I say nervously.
Hayes grabs me by the shoulders,"Kaecie Lynn Amils,I know when your lying to me. Is there something I should be worrying about?" He asks.
"No everything's fine,and I just wanted to give you two space I guess."
"Ok whatever Kaecie."
"Hey,I'll catch you later. Gonna go practice." I say to him.
"Bye,Kaecie." He says.
"Bye Hayes." I open the door into an empty room.
I know he's upset I won't tell him all or what is actually is going on,but it's better this way. I don't want to be the cause of him not chasing after Alexis or hopefully not having a repeat with Alexis.
I just hope she's changed and doesn't hurt him,because if she's still the Alexis I remember,we're in a lot of trouble.
