five:Hang Outs pt. 1

"Thanks again for all the help." Hayes thanks me for the fifth time.
"Hayes say 'thank you' one more time I will lock you in a room for three hours with no food." I threaten.
His mouth falls open.
"Kidding,I could only make it about an hour and a half."
"That is still way too long." He complains.
"Well stop saying 'thank you'. I mean what are friends for?" I ask.
"True." Then he hugs me.
"Well I kinda need to umm go,Hayes." I say awkwardly.
"Bye,Kace." He says and I walk towards my car. As I get in,I see Alexis pull into someone's driveway. When she gets out,she looks like she did in highschool. Barely any clothes on.
Before I start the car I get a text from my other sister.
Kaya💙: can you pick me up?
Me: is it dad?
Kaya💙: yes. pick me up at the tree house.
Me: be there soon.
Once I press send I pull out of the Grier driveway and go to pick up Kaya (pronounced Ky-uh).
I turn on the radio,and 5SOS is on.
I start singing and finally pull up at the tree house.
Kaya gets in with her bag,"Thanks Kace. He was really at it. I don't know how much longer I can take of him."
"Ky,I've been looking for places to live. Once I find a place and I'm moved out,I'm getting custody of you."
"Good." She smiles.
"You can just stay here,I'll go down to the courthouse tomorrow to start the process." I tell her.
"Thanks so much,Kace. I just wish mom and Kiara were here to see how good you've become." Kaya hugs me.
"They didn't deserve what they got." I whisper.
"I know,Kaecie,I know."

When I wake up again I see a text from Hayes.
Hayesss🤘🏻: Jacks @ 6?
Me: if I can bring my little sis
Hayesss🤘🏻: def. I wanna meet her now
Me: see you then
"Ky! We're meeting Hayes at Jacks." I say.
"Wait,Hayes Grier? You know Hayes Grier?" She gets really excited.
Both her and Kiara were Magcon superfans,I liked them just not as much as they did/do.
"Yea,we're pretty good friends." I say nonchalantly.
"Oh my gosh! I'll be a minute I've got to look good." She runs to the bathroom. I just throw my hair in a messy bun and put on a sweatshirt with leggings.
When Kaya gets out of the bathroom she takes one look at me and says,"You look horrible."
"Oh thanks." I chuckle.
"Love you. Now let's go." She says giggling.
We walk to the elevator,and go down to the lobby.
"Hey,Kaecie!" I see some random guy.
"Hey." I say confused because I don't know him.
We continue to walk out to my car and get in.
Soon we're at Jacks and I see Hayes pulling up too.
"Hey,Amils." He says walking up to us.
"You're Hayes Grier." Kaya breathes hard.
"Did you not believe me?" I ask smirking at her.
"Sorta kinda but oh my gosh. I'm such a big fan." She tells him.
"Want an autograph,follow,or what?"
"I want a picture." She smiles.
"Anything for my best friends sister."
That's when Kaya squeals.
"What's your name?" He asks after I take their picture.
"Kaya."
"Well Kaya,to be a superfan you've acted pretty cool."
"Thanks now how about our Jacks?" Then she runs into Jacks.
"How old is she?"
"Fifteen." I say.
"Cool." He says.
Once we sit down,I see my dad pulling into a parking spot.
My eyes widen and I interrupt Kaya and Hayes's conversation by saying,"Kaya go to the bathroom."
"Why?" She asks confused.
"Look out the window."
As she looks,dad is getting out of the car.
"Kace,your coming." She says.
"No,go I'll be there soon. Just keep your phone on you."
"Fine." She runs towards the bathroom.
"What's happening? Who's that man?" Hayes asks confused.
I sigh and say,"Our father. He's can very abusive for the past three years. And since I'm 18,he lays a hand on me it won't turn out well for him. He still has custody of Kaya though,so that's why she's hiding." I say.
"What about your mom?"
"My mom,my twin sister,and I were in a in a car accident almost four years ago. I was the only one survived,and after three months without them dad started drinking and doing drugs,then he would beat me and Kaya for no reason." I say tearing up.
"I'm sorry." Hayes says hugging me.
"Kaecie!" I hear my dad yell.
"It's your fault. She's gone! What'd you do kill another family member?" Dad yells.
Soon one of the workers come out,"Sir I'm going have to ask you to leave."
"I'm not leaving!"
"Sir,leave please."
"No,not until my daughter has paid!" After he yells at everyone for 15 minutes straight,the police come.
"Sir,you've been asked to leave. Can you leave."
"Right after this." He walks up to me and pulls me from my seat.
"You killed them,"he whispers,"You killed them!" He screams then slaps me and shoves me to the ground.
I just get up and look at him,"It's funny how you treat Kaya like crap,and when she wants to come live with me. You blame me for taking care of her. I've protected you long enough,I'm done. I'm done with your pushing and shoving,I'm done with your ladies every night,I'm done with your drinking,I'm done with your drugs,I'm done with you. You may hate me,but you should be thanking me for all the things I've done for you. So go on to jail now,and once the court finds out all you've done through me and Kaya,we'll never see you again. Oh,and don't be mad at me that you've been a bad father,it's your own. damn. fault." I say in a low voice to him and sit back down.
The police take him into custody and I see Kaya standing out of sight in straight up tears.
"Why?" She asks as I pull her into a hug.
"I love you. You know that. No matter what he does or if he doesn't go to jail,you're living with me. I will protect you at all costs."
"Thanks,Kaecie." She says.
We go back and sit down with Hayes.
"If you guys wanna go,it's fine with me. I understand." He says a sad look covering his face.
"Hayes,we're not going anywhere. We said Jacks,so that's what we're doing. Plus if you want you can come back to the hotel we're staying at and hang out." I suggest.
"Okay cool. I'll follow you out there." His face lit up after I said that.
"Hayes,how's you and Alexis?" I ask while Kaya plays on her phone sipping her drink.
Once she hears Alexis she spits out her drink and says,"Alexis?" My eyes widen basically telling her not to say anything.
"Oh yea,she's cool." Kaya shoots me a look and goes back to her phone. Soon she texts me.
Kaya💙: he doesn't know who Alexis is?
Me: Ky,she could've changed. but don't say anything ab me coming home crying almost everyday bc of her
Kaya💙: fine but if she messes with you. tell him. promise me.
Me: I promise.
"I don't know she just sometimes seems kind of sketchy. I like her,but someone else has my heart." He says.
"Are you just going to try to sort out things by seeing who you like more?" I ask.
"Yea but I think I already know."
"That's good,so when's your next date with Alexis?" I ask.
"Don't know. So you ready to leave?" Hayes asks me.
"Yea,let me go throw my trash away." I go to the trash can and obviously throw my trash away.
"Kaya you ready?" I ask.
"Um actually Tessa wants me to come to her house tonight." Kaya says.
"Want me to drop you off?" I ask her.
"Would you please,Kaecie?" She begs.
"Totally. You ready?"
"Yea lets go."
"Hayes you can still follow. Tessa's house is on the way to the hotel."
"Okay."
"Well let's go!" I say.
