The air was heavy with tension as (Y/n) Ubuyashiki stood over the decapitated demon, its body sprawled on the ground near Nashiriki High School. She wiped the sweat from her brow, adrenaline still coursing through her veins. Just as she took a moment to breathe, a commotion erupted from the direction of the school.
Curiosity piqued, (Y/n) moved swiftly, instinct guiding her feet. She slipped into the shadows, finding a vantage point behind a cluster of trees. What she saw made her heart drop: her mother, Kagero, stood at the center of chaos, wielding a madogu to control Fuko, the spirit of flames. Recca, her long-lost brother, was desperately trying to fight against both Kagero and Fuko.
“Fuko! You have to fight it!” Recca shouted, dodging the swirling winds that Fuko summoned.
Fuko, trapped in a whirlwind of energy, struggled against the control. (Y/n) felt a surge of anger and helplessness as she watched her brother fight a battle on two fronts. She noticed Tokiya, lurking nearby, his expression serious as he tried to gauge the situation.
The wind from Fuko’s whirlwind intensified, whipping around the area. Anything that came too close was tossed aside, creating a chaotic scene. (Y/n) watched intently, knowing she couldn’t intervene without exposing herself.
In that moment, she saw the flicker of determination in Recca's eyes. “Fuko! Focus on my voice! You can break free!” he called out, his voice cutting through the chaos.
Fuko, its energy flickering as it recognized Recca. But the whirlwind threatened to consume her. (Y/n) felt a wave of fear—Fuko would run out of oxygen if this continued.
Then, as if answering Recca’s call, Fuko surged with a burst of energy, but the wind spiraled stronger, threatening to diminish her oxygen. Just when (Y/n) thought all hope was lost, Recca found his opening.
“I won’t let you go down like this!” he shouted, leaping toward Fuko, his arms outstretched.
With a swift maneuver he manage to leap in the middle of the whirlwind, wrapping his arms around Fuko just in time. Her eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment, the whirlwind stilled.
In that brief moment, Fuko gasped for air, the whirlwind subsiding.
As Fuko regained her breath she was free from Kagero's control
In a final attempt to regain control, Kagero shouted, “You’re a fool, Recca!” But before she could react further, the winds dissipated, Kagero disappeared into the shadows.
Recca held Fuko close, both of them breathing heavily. The tension in the air faded, leaving behind a stillness that felt both foreign and comforting.
(Y/n) stepped back into the shadows, her heart racing. She had witnessed an extraordinary moment between her brother and Fuko, and she knew she had to tread carefully.
Tokiya, still hidden, exchanged a glance with her, a silent understanding passing between them. For now, they would remain observers, but the bond between (Y/n) and her brother had begun to form in the midst of chaos.
As (Y/n) retreated further into the shadows, she felt a new resolve building within her. She would uncover the truth about her family, and one day, she would stand beside Recca, ready to confront the challenges that lay ahead.
