"...on"
"...kon."
"Yui..."
"Yuikon!"
His father's voice startled him, which jolted him back from his nap. It appears that they are in a car, Driven by one of his father's trusted men.
Currently, they're making their way to his father's laboratory for some experiments. It was a hot summer and with the lab being left alone in such hot weather, it may cause some problems.
"Are you sure you had enough sleep last night?" His father, Caesar, asked like any typical parent would.
"Yes, Father..." Yuikon replied, rubbing his eyes as he adjusted to the sunlight. "It's just... that your labs take way too long to get to."
"It may be, but you shouldn't rest your head on the window." Caesar leaned forward to him, grabbing his head and putting a pillow between his head and the window.
"Here, that should be more comfortable." Caesar said, getting back to a proper stance. "Now, this reactor needs to be in pristine condition until the adjustments are implemented, I need you to be careful when tinkering with the inner core module, okay?"
"Mhm..." Yuikon mumbled, his voice a bit tired.
"You know, you don't have to do this, right?" Caesar said.
"I want to do it, Father. You can just give me a simple task." Yuikon said.
"Right..." His father said with a concerned look on his face.
As they arrived at their designated area, They gathered their equipment and got into the laboratory. Passing by some coworkers and gathered some snacks, they stood in front of a locked room, Caesar grabbed a key card and swiped to open.
Upon entering the room, they were met with another scientist, observing and writing down the activity of this potentially revolutionizing machine.
"Good morning, Ms.Anderson." Caesar greeted the brunette woman in a lab coat.
"Ah, You're here." Ms.Anderson greeted him and then noticed a young man next to him. "Oh? Who's this?"
"That would be my son, Yuikon. Say hi to Ms.Anderson." Yuikon smiled and waved his hands.
"Hello, it's nice to meet— wait, Yuikon...?" She was taken back by the rather unusual name.
"Yes, Yuikon." Caesar nodded
"Does that mean anything or...?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Yui(惟) means 'Think, Consider, Reflect' and Kon(紺) comes from kon'iro( 紺色), which is Navy blue in Japanese." Caesar explains as Yuikon points his index finger at the side of his head, running it in circles. "Just say that it's dark blue in Japanese, father?"
"...Right, you didn't just come up with the name and look for a vague meaning for it?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Totally!" Caesar nodded.
"I'll believe you this time." She rolled her eyes playfully. "What is he even doing here?"
"He's here to help out!" Cesar said.
"Help out? Caesar, this isn't a playground for kids, even if he's... Wait, how old are you?" She turned to Yuikon.
"Sixteen, Ma'am."
"Right, Even if he's sixteen, it's still dangerous for him to even do anything." She turned back to Caesar.
"Relax, I'm just letting him tamper with the atom accelerator and the power box, pretty simple procedures." Caesar attempted to reassure her.
