Rhaenyra
It had been two days since the news of Rhaenys' demise at Rooks rest arrived. Rhaenyra hadn't planned her next step since most people in the castle were close to Rhaenys.
Baela had been saddened by her grandmother's demise but Jace had comforted her. Jace himself was mostly angry with Aemond's attack.
Corlys however, didn't take it so well. He hadn't left his room since the news came. Rhaenyra herself was sad though she was determined now more than ever to succeed.
People were distracted and grieving however life must go on and the war did not stop. Rhaenyra had called a meeting of the small council but before that happened she needed to speak with Jacaerys.
Jacaerys entered her room 20 minutes later. He was wearing a fine black silk cloak with embroidered red dragons on the shoulders. His hair, curly as ever, ran free next to his face.
Rhaenyra walked over to him and softly brushed a strand behind his ear. She smiled softly and Jace hugged her. Once the hug was over he coughed, slightly embarrassed, and stepped back.
'Your Grace.' He said as he took a deep bow.
'Jace.' Rhaenyra said warmly and Jace's cool demeanor fell.
'You wished to see me?' he said formally.
Rhaenyra coughed and nodded.
'Yes, I did. I hoped to speak to you before the small council meeting.' Rhaenyra sat down on a chair and pointed to the chair across from her, signaling Jace to sit. He did exactly that and accepted a cup of wine from one of the servants.
'I fear with Rhaenys and Meleys gone the greens mat presume us as weak.' Rhaenyra took a sip of wine.
'If they appreciate their lives they won't.' Jacaerys murmured.
'Yes, however, we must show power if we want our allies to remain. The greens might be plotting to ambush us at this very moment, whilst we're weak. They will hear the news soon enough if they aren't. The small folk talk too much.' Rhaenyra sighed and turned to look a Jace.He seemed to be deep in thought. Jacaerys stood and walked to the window.
'We need more Dragonriders. Meleys was your largest dragon and besides potentially Caraxes we don't have any dragons that could stand a chance against Vhagar.' He said.
'Well, where do you suppose we find these Dragonriders? Rhaena has tried to claim the unclaimed dragons and there are no other Targaryens on our side.' Rhaenyra narrowed her eyes.Jace turned to face her. He tilted his head with a smug face as he said: 'There are others...'
Rhaenyra's eyes widened and she cut him off. 'That never ruled...Long forgotten offspring of our house.'
Jace blinked. 'Or, the illegitimate offspring of our house.' He said while sitting back down.
Rhaenyra's narrowed her eyes. 'Bastards?!' Rhaenyra spat with surprise and disbelief. 'You would have our dragons get claimed by the small folk?'
