The beginning of school went well. I am satisfied with the outcome of switching schools.  My new teacher, Mr. Cooper, who is the English teacher, is very interesting. He walked into the classroom, and he began assigning us seats and when he went to me, he asked me If we had met before. I don't recall that at all to be honest. But I just looked at him, but I think he thought I was thinking that he was crazy. He then put my seat next to the window with Friedrich sitting across from me and Lily and Toby in the front. I liked my seat because I could unlock the window and let the breeze fly in. But I was wrong. He dashed over to me right when I tried unlocking the window and he said that the windows in this school are forbidden to be opened. I thought he took that too far; he could've just told me that without acting like I was about to commit a crime. And I could see Toby making a "don't do that again or you will be killed." motion with his hand. Anyway, that was just my first class so far. And now I was walking through the hallway to my next class where my new friends Lily, Toby, and Friedrich were to be.
"Yo, Amelia! Over here!" shouted Toby.
They ushered me over to their table in the next class. I sat down on the seat and laid out my supplies. Lily urgently asked, "What was that about in English class?" I answered with a "I don't know." I looked over at my new teacher Ms. Brock who was quietly sipping the biggest mug of black coffee I had ever seen. She had curly long brown hair and looked like she just threw on a random outfit from the laundry basket because there were coffee stains, and her button shirt was not buttoned correctly. Ms. Brock then stood up and announced to the class, "Hello everyone. We will be writing a paragraph introduction of yourselves for me to get to know you more." I sighed and got a paper. What should I write? I feel like this paragraph won't be too long. I then noticed Friedrich just staring at his paper for about five minutes like he had no clue what he was doing. "Uh, Friedrich. Is there something wrong?" Friedrich then looked up at me and shrugged and answered, "I just don't know what to write about." I told him I agree because I also don't really know what to write. Ms. Brock then projects, "Okay, that was more than 10 minutes. Time to hand them in." Suddenly, Lily exclaimed, "Ms. Brock, I haven't finished yet!" Ms. Brock sighed. "Write something quick." I gave her an annoyed look behind her back and quickly wrote something on the paper.
I am Amelia.
Well, it looks like my grade will be skyrocketing downwards. Ms. Brock finally releases us to lunch and recess. Me and my newly found friends sat down in the grass and began to eat. The food tasted very bland. The sandwich the lunchroom gave me just tasted like just bread as itself even though they put ham, cheese, and mayo on it. I quickly put my food in the trash and sat back down. As you can see, I am a picky eater. I could tell that my friends didn't like the food too much either, but Toby still scoffed it down. I think he was very hungry. The recess yard was not fenced in, and it was a wide-open meadow with the never-ending forest up far ahead. "What do you guys want to do?" asked Friedrich who seemed to be a little more confident. I thought about it for a second about what to do and got an idea.
"What if we explore the forest over there?"
All of us got up and we headed towards the forest. Maybe we could find something entertaining to do. We approached the forest, but I still felt like everyone, but my friends were glaring at me. We approached the entrance. Lily picked up a branch off the ground and started a sword fight with everyone. She flung her "sword" towards me, but I stopped it with a quick reflex with a branch I picked off the ground. We were all laughing hysterically. We were all flinging sticks at each other playfully. Friedrich then bumped into me, and I fell to the ground on my bum. He then rushed over and yelped,
"Are you okay? I'm so sorry!"
I told him that I was fine but then I found something pressing on the bottom of my hand. I lifted my hand and there was a ring underneath it. It wasn't a wedding ring. It had a red ruby jewel on it with a golden wrap-a-round. Friedrich's eyes darted towards the ring and had the same confused look on his face as I did. I picked up the ring and studied it. "It looks expensive. I think we should bring it to the lost and found if they have one."
Friedrich nodded in agreement and Toby and Lily followed behind. We hiked to the exit of the forest but there was a figure standing over by the exit, barricading it. We looked at each other in fear and slowly walked over. As we got closer, we found out that the figure was Mr. Cooper, my English teacher. His facial expression did not seem joyful at all.
"Ms. Thornfield, Mr. Barlowe, Ms. Anderson, and Mr. Clinton." He stood there glaring at us and continued. "The forest is forbidden to all students at this school. Explain yourselves, RIGHT NOW."
His eyes were getting red, and he was breathing heavily. Lily stepped forward and pleaded,
"Mr. Cooper, we were never aware of these rules until now."
He swung his arm harshly and pointed toward the school and shouted, "Get out of here!" we froze and all of us dashed for our lives up towards the building with the ring on my finger. I looked back and Mr. Cooper was gone. "We'd better get inside." Huffed Toby. We stepped foot inside and walked through the halls. "I am going to stop by the bathroom." I quickly said.  I rushed inside the lady's restroom and looked in the mirror. There was sweat dripping down my face, and I looked miserable. I always hated being yelled at by teachers.
I opened my palm where the ring was lying and washed in under the water to get the ring brand new. Then, an upperclassman walks out of the stall and spots my ring in my hand. She bolts over and grabs my arm very hard. "Where did you get that ring?!" snapped the girl. I stood there in pain and couldn't get any words out of my mouth. "That ring was my best friend's ring! Where did you find it!" she proceeded. I gulped and uttered, "I just found it in the forest a bit ago..." Her face went pale, and she let go of my arm which was cutting off circulation. She grabbed the ring and dashed out of the restroom.
