Hello everyone! I'm back for more!
I'm going to be honest, I wasn't planning on making a sequel for The First Champion, but after completing TOTK, I suddenly got so many ideas. Before I knew it, I had a google doc with 8 pages of ideas so... I guess this is real!
I have a few words before we get started:
First off, I want to really lean in on the horror elements of this game. TOTK is so much darker and horrifying than BOTW, and I want to challenge myself to really highlight that in my writing. My goal is to make all of you very uncomfortable with the imagery, so if that's not your thing, please let this be your warning!
I am also currently replaying the game with the original Japanese voices, and since I have been studying Japanese for 6 years, I noticed a lot of the original writing was lost in translation. In The First Champion, I kept the dialogue of the cutscenes to the script, but I want to alter it this time and try my own interpretation of the original writing.
I also have the full storyline finished and planned out, so this is a complete work in the making, not an idea dump that will be lost in the Wattpad ether. You might remember me mentioning I was 16 when I closed off The First Champion... Well, I'm 19 now and in college, which means I am really busy. But I also just had surgery so I have a lot of time to rest and recover, and I want writing this to be my main focus!
Also a little life update: The surgery I just had was top surgery! This is a gender neutral novel so everyone is welcome, but I am especially happy to have some trans audience with me as well. So to my trans friends here, you can do it too! My gender dysphoria started around the time I first published the beginning of The First Champion. And now I'm writing a sequel after not only 3 years on T, but after top surgery as well. I've come a long way when I thought I couldn't. So even though things are really hard for us right now, hang in there. You can do it too <3
I'm really excited to be writing more of this. I've loved this game with all my heart for almost a third of my life. I can't wait for you all to see what I've come up with for this sequel. I'm hoping this is going to be even better than before!
