I ran my fingers through my hair. I slowly stood up and flinched as a cramp took over my leg. I flopped back down and stretched my leg until the cramp went away, then proceeded to slowly walk towards my room. Thank god the room was on the first floor, or it would take me forever to climb up the stairs. Unless this rich ass hotel had an elevator, (which it probably did) but knowing me, I would fall asleep on it.
"Uugh, dammit' I groaned. My head was already pounding. And I can't buy headache pills. Later. Later, later, later. I stumbled to my room and dropped on my bed like a worn out rag doll. Things were silent with my strained breathing, and I was unable to fall asleep due to the headache.
Then I heard it.
Po, Po, Po, Po . . .
"Nnnngh . . ." I slowly opened my eyes. Within my blurry vision, two ghostly, pale legs crossed my vision. they were huge and had a white (it was actually pink but it was so pale you could mistake it for white.) dress that clung to the sickly skin. I strained my head up.
"Po?" I yelped as the woman was staring directly at me. Her eyes were wide and blood shot and she was frowning. The floorboards creaked as she brung her face close to mine. She brought her hand out and began to pull my hair, as if she was inspecting it. She finally took her hands off of me and sat on the bed. I was completely paralyzed. She never stopped staring at me as she wormed under the covers.
"Are you my room mate?" She spoke softly. I released the breath of air I didn't realize that I was choking on.
"Uh . . . Yeah. What's your name?"
"Takai" She said, not breaking eye contact.
"Oh, well . . . I'm going to bed now."
"Good night." I slowly went to sleep with the constant sound of Po, Po, Po, in my ears.

I groggily opened and wiped my eyes. In most books and movies, the main character forgets where they are for a second. That didn't happen with me. I marched straight down the hall, looking for a bathroom. I found one and splashed water on my eyes. You're not supposed to wipe your face, but your eyes never hurt, right? I rubbed the sand out of them and headed to the receptionist, who seemed to always be where I was.
"Do you know where I can get a headache pill around here?" I asked and yawned.
"One of the staff will provide you with the necessary essentials to remedy your pain. Next time you do not heed my warning, you will not be handed the remedy, do you understand?" The edge of her tone kind of pissed me off, but whatever. A headache pill was a headache pill. I heard the sound of faint, soft pecking as she typed on her computer. I sighed and went back to my room. The tall lady was no where to be found, and I decided to do something. I grabbed a book off the shelf and began to read. About two chapters later, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in!" A young woman brought in a glass of water and a pill. she set them down and hurried out without a word, or without the time for me to even say thank you. I popped the pill in my mouth and took a few swallows. I plopped back on the bed and decided to read a few more chapters. It was Friday; I had at least two days to get out of this place. I could give my classes a few boring assignments or even a fun free day while I get my shit back together. I only then realized that there was a third bed.
Wasn't there supposed to only be two beds for two room mates? What's up with that?
"Room number seven, and room number thirteen, please head to the receptionist desk immediately" I groaned, tossed my book to the side, stood up, and dragged my ass to the reception center.
"Yeah? What do you want?" There was a pretty girl with a mask already there. I don't know how, since thirteen is on the second floor and I'm on the first. Maybe it's because she was already there. Or maybe it's because I dragged ass. She tucked a random strand of hair behind her ear and blinked to me. She was wearing a white kimono with orange adorned and had bright, pretty blue eyes. her finger nails and hair were long, her hair reaching down to her feet and her fingernails giving a claw like appearance. She would have been beautiful if she wasn't glaring at me.
"And what did I ever do to you, bitch?" I barked. She ripped her mask off and bared her teeth at me, her eyes wide and menacing. I flinched and stepped back a little. Her mouth was cut from ear to ear.
"I would advise you to please calm down, for you are about to be room mates."
"Room mates? With this crazy bitch? You've got to be kidding me." She hissed again. Her mouth was kind of unnerving, not going to lie.
"I'm afraid it is required. Have a good day." She went back to pecking on her computer. The girl with the big mouth stomped off to the room I sighed. Good thing that I didn't bring my clothes or stuff in, or she would have ripped everything up. Or eaten it. There's gotta be some reason for that large mouth of hers. I returned to the same seat I sat in last night and ordered a cocktail. I watched the bar tender shake it up and noticed his name tag.
"Arthur" Huh. No wonder the guy looked strange. He was American. Or at least had an American name.
"Why are you here, anyways?" He said, his voice low and rough.
"What do you mean?"
"It's seven, ain't it? It's your free hour. Don't tell a secret and you should be good."
"Wait, you mean I can get out of this place!?"
"Yeah! Dumb ass. You didn't know? Twice a day."
"Well fuck! The drink is all yours, man!" I ran out the door.
