The Possessor of Divine Grandeur and Lordly Pharoah Atem, son of Akammamon reclined on his gilded throne overlooking the elaborate palace hall that extended 20 football fields. Around him was a band of his advisors, Shimon was the eldest advisor who also advised his late father and bore an uncanny resemblance to his abiou's grandfather. The stoic and tall Karim was the most athletic of his advisors and could pass as an Egyptian warrior than an adviser. The beautiful Priestess Isis who Pharoah Atem, held in the highest regard was not just the holder of the millennium necklace who foretold future prophecies but she was a devoted healer who kept most of the people who served the Pharoah in good health.

Atem sat calmly and serenely enjoying the peaceful time on his throne. Since he has been in the afterlife, there was no concept of time, everything moved slower and what would be considered one day is a week in the mortal world. Since he has been in the afterlife after his ceremonial duel with his aibou, Yugi Muto, now the anointed King of Games, who Atem gladly acknowledged and brought such happiness to his spirit has felt a serenity in Yugi being the one to defeat him and send him to his paradise.

In Atem's mind nobody has ever been his equal and worthy to defeat him except for his aibou. His aibou held a special place in his heart not cause Yugi freed him from the darkness of the millennium puzzle and was responsible for his salvation back to his place as Phaorah and soon-to-be god anointment, no indeed, it was cause Yugi was pure of heart, a warrior and angel worthy of every kind of power and good deed handed to him. There has never been a day since being the afterlife where he never thought about his angelic other half and even his other friends he adores.

He felt serenity in knowing that Yugi's wise decision in wanting to battle him was what led to Atem's eventual ascent into godhood status among the Egyptian gods. Yugi's pure of heart was Atem's salvation to reaching paradise and having high favor among the Gods. It was as written as the law that by Yugi winning against Atem, Yugi was sending his judgment to the Gods that Atem was worthy of paradise and godhood. No other Pharoah has been considered a true god among the gods except for Atem and part of it was caused by Atem's attachment to Yugi his pure angelic half who saved and rescued his soul from damnation and his service of battling against all the evil forces in the mortal plane world.

Even though it has been ten months in the mortal world it still feels like yesterday to him since he last had his duel with Yugi. He will never forget that day when he saw his aibou become the champion and warrior he knew his Yugi could be, everybody underestimated him and his talents but never him. It brought him such joy and tingles through his body when he saw Yugi defeat the Egyptian God Cards in one turn with little effort in front of everyone worthy to see his aibou's skills. His aibou can make things seem so easy, he was always good at that whereas Atem believed so much in will and assertiveness cause of his warrior training in his youth of bending an enemy to your will, whereas when Yugi put his mind to it he makes everything look easy.

He remembers Anzu's flip-flopping on who she wanted to win based on her feelings but never her logic to Atem, she had no idea how much she insulted him in wanting to root for him over Yugi, for Yugi was truly the better duelist but also Yugi's heart was strongest and worthy for her happiness.

Yugi made him feel so happy even though Atem did not have his memories intact when he was a spirit, even without his memories he always felt the whole cause of Yugi. His advisors and his family made sure his transition to the afterlife was a proper transition for it was not every day a Pharoah comes to the afterlife just being a mere spirit. Atem has reunited with all important people in his Pharaonic life from his parents, and guardians to his closest friends. He was content to see them all again, happy, and living their paradise. He fully talked with all of them about Yugi but he never fully went in-depth on how much Yugi really meant to him on a personal and emotional level. Though he was happy to see all of them again after 5,000 years, he still did not feel fully joyous with his reunion but he kept a good act in being joyous around his family for he did adore and love them.
