"Oh, Aaron Cadell, so pleased to meet you. Did you know, your very existence means everything and nothing. It raises so many questions, and I'm just delighted to meet you." Aaron didn't know his name but his jade green eyes were serpentine and his voice crisp on the air, sticking to and pulling on Aaron's spirit. He was a true enigma and an unavoidable truth: The Devil.

"Where am I?" Aaron asked, intoxicated by the very air as if it was filled with poison.

"Oh, dear Aaron, I want you to know I'll be lying."

"I believe you." Aaron said, kneeling about to vomit.

"You're in hell again."

Aaron gasped on the air, "Help me." He cried out to the figure before him, but there was no response. He looked up and saw his faintly glowing face and a smile of fangs dripping poison that bubbled on Aaron's shirt sending fumes upwards.

Aaron felt himself pulling back to the waking world. For the first time in the earthly realm Aaron saw Mikael who was sitting in the aisle of the plane. He was dressed in ordinary clothes, and his form was shifting somewhere between 7 and 8 feet. Mikael saw him wake and tapped his head. Is it ok if we continue to talk like this? He said in Aaron's mind.

Yes, Aaron responded, now feeling a little intruded on.

Why don't you appear like this all the time?

Why do people not sprint everywhere? Mikael softened up and sighed, it's tiring, Aaron.

So I was thinking, you're an angel right?

That's correct.

Why can't you guys come up with a way out of killing this girl?

We will stop her on the way if we spot her in time, but if not it will be too late for her life. There's too many others at stake.

A flight attendant stuck her heeled shoe through Mikael's stomach and the strangeness of the image made Aaron smile and look away. He then remembered the dream. Mikael I dreamt of, Aaron trailed off for a second, well I dreamt of the devil.

Mikael's tone turned deathly serious, like a general speaking to a messenger.

Have you heard of Sodom and Gamorah?

Maybe.

Murder, rape, God's sends fire, everybody dies.

I don't remember that story being so cut and dry.

What I'm saying is there are consequences to actions. Think about it Aaron Cadell. Aaron shuddered, still remembering the smell of the serpent's venom. Your name off a roster, every class at your school changes just a little. In fact everything is displaced ever so slightly, you're an only child right?

Right, he confirmed.

Well, think of if your parents never had you. The whole world would be displaced by one person who filled up tax records, school records, and social security records. Think of this plane, one person could throw off days or even hours of other people's lives were they not here. Everything moves together for fate to take place in the moment. Speaking of which, we're here. Mikael disappeared again.

Great, Aaron thought as people began to funnel into the walkway.

I can still hear your thoughts Aaron.

Even those I had a few hours ago. Aaron asked, turning slightly pink with embarrassment.

I was trying to respect your space, did you want to talk of your sins about the stewardess?
