Minho was never someone who would have a hard time understanding things.
Minho was someone who would always make sure that anything he did was done correctly.
Minho was never someone who would desire to fit in with the group.
Minho was someone who would sit down at the table and focus if he was forced to.
All of this gave him great potential to achieve academic prowess, a good life with a decent sum of money, and a parent's eternal bragging rights.
He knew this fully, it had always been hammered into his brain. It lingered in the back of his mind all the time. How could it not? It was all he had ever known for the majority of his life.
Authority figures loved him and applauded him when he was a kid because he was, in their mind, 'convenient'.
The reserved smart kid. Teachers never had to double-check the paper in disbelief when they saw that he had a perfect score.
In fact, anything below an A from Lee Minho used to be quite the shock.
It would be enough to make the teachers doubt their own abilities, checking the paper again to make sure they hadn't made any mistakes, but if Minho got any bad grade from them, they definitely did.
He didn't know exactly when he had stopped caring. He just knew it happened, and he knew it happened quickly.
It wasn't like he watched himself give up from the sidelines, that would suggest he had some idea about when it happened and had an opportunity to stop it. That didn't seem right at all.
If he had to guess, he would definitely say it would be around the same time as he met...them.
Changbin groaned loudly, annoyed as Chan giggled playfully at him. Seungmin sighed idly, looking up at the screen to see that he had lost the game. It didn't take a brain as big as God himself to know who else had lost along with Seungmin.
They had asked Minho to participate, but he told them he was going to study.
He said he was going to really concentrate this time, to make sure to be able to graduate this year, but he couldn't focus even a bit.
His engagement drifted everywhere other than the book right in front of him. Well, it was the book's fault for not having a more striking look, he thought to himself.
He put his head down on the desk, defeated. He had tried to study for around one hour, and how much he had gotten into his head? The fact that he couldn't even recollect how much said enough.
"There are people worse than me" was the main phrase he would say whenever he was struggling with something, and he would use it again today, reiterating it in his head.
"I bet Jisung isn't even trying to study" He pondered, chuckling. The thought of his...not-so-intellectually-superior friend made him feel less lonely about the reality, which was that it was crystal clear that he wouldn't pass the math test.
"...That's if he even knows that there's a math test tomorrow, actually"

"Shh"
"Jisung"
"I'm sleeping" He rubbed his eyes, fatigue present in his voice as he rolled to the other side of the bed, the blanket covering him up to his neck.
"It's 8 PM" Jeongin brought up.
"You never sleep this early" The younger poked the half-asleep Jisung's cheek.
