Cassie was standing in front of her mother and father, Erron at your side. "Cassie are you sure you'll be okay." Sonya asked, being very hesitant at letting her daughter go. "I'll be fine mom." Sonya nodded and hugged her tightly. She pulled away and Johnny hugged her. "Stay my little girl." He whispered. She just nodded and pulled away, smiling up at him.
She turned around to Erron, who was suppressing tears. She hugged him tightly. "I'll come back. It won't be like last time. I promise." Soldiers were in a line leading to the chopper on both sides of the doors, standing at attention. She kissed him lightly on the lips. "I promise.." She then turned towards the chopper.
"Sergeant Cage." Her mother said. She turned around, facing her when she walked up and clipped a badge that says 'lieutenant' with three gold stars above it. "You deserve this." She hugged her once more. "Stay safe." Cassie smiled and hugged her back before turning. As she walked through the line of soldiers, they all saluted. She looked over her shoulder to see her parents saluting, along with Erron. Kung Jin, Takeda, Jacqui, and D'vorah walked up, saluting to her as well. She smiled and walked on, closing the doors behind her.
This is going to be a long year.
